I mean, we all accept that Fox can't be trusted. But then people will turn around and believe MSNBC or Anderson Cooper or whoever. Rachel Maddow's lawyers use the same arguments in court that Tucker Carlson's make: she doesn't have to tell the truth because everyone knows it's just entertainment and no sane person would believe her.

There are still people who believe all that Russiagate nonsense. There are still people who think Hunter's laptop was fake.

And I agree with you about Sanders. Even at our most cynical, if we think he was just saying those things and didn't mean them, it's a pleasure to hear somebody stand up and let us imagine government doing what it ought to do.

I would really love to see the quote of Maddow's lawyer claiming that no sane person would believe her. I can't seem to find it on the internet. Just something about her show being opinion, which I presume we all knew.

I already posted the legal decision in which the judge says that she deals in entertainment, not to be believed.

She certainly states things as if they were fact. You can read the statements she made for which she was sued.

I had a stutter until I got some speech therapy in elementary school. It sill comes up on occasion, but if you heard me speaking now you'd be surprised to read the above. I'm fluent and fluid verbally.

Yet I still have moments when I couldn't say "shit" if I had a mouthful of it.

Just to hitch a ride on what you're saying

I have had an impediment where I can simply not recall certain words, and so my speech can lack fluidity. There's a metric shit pile of reasons I shouldn't be President, but that isn't one of them.

I have had stuttering problems myself, especially at a young age.

My stuttering problem has since vastly improved, but I do think that I still have some minor problems from time to time with stuttering. I guess it never truly goes away, or does it?

(Bold mine)

Heh, brings back memories. Me Da used to say that about untrustworthy people. ‘Don’t believe him. That lying bugger wouldn’t say shit if he had a mouthful.’

Oh come the fuck on. You think it's the stutter causing his issues?

I'm guessing this story didn't make it into your algorithms?

Special counsel report specifically cites Biden's age and poor memory as a reason he wasn't charged

You can admit he's a senile old man. Trump wont win just because you admit it, I promise.

Update: He took a press conference about the report and said his memory is fine. LITERALLY 2 minutes later called Abdel Fattah El-Sisi the president of Mexico. Lmaooo

He doesn't have a stutter. That idea was invented during the last campaign.

He has a decades-long career in Washington. There are many videos. If you can find one from before the last campaign in which he stutters or appears to search for a word, please give us the link.

For example, on YouTube you can find the speech in which he resigns from the 1987 presidential campaign, after he was caught plagiarizing a speech. He speaks at a normal speed, with no stutters, in an articulate manner.

He definitely has a stutter, it's just not nearly as bad as they've made it out to be. You're right about the 1987 speech. Hell, even in 2012 he was perfectly coherent. The decline has been rapid over the last 4 years in particular.

I honestly didn't know that, and I've seen quite a few videos over the years. But I believe you if you say it, because you're clearly not making up excuses.

Maybe mental deterioration aggravates incipient stutters. But that's still mental deterioration.

Quote:You're right about the 1987 speech. Hell, even in 2012 he was perfectly coherent. The decline has been rapid over the last 4 years in particular.

I was the main caregiver for my mom-in-law, aged 88 to 100. We spent a lot of time at her Day Service among the other oldies. There is a recognizable way that people talk when the mind starts to go. It's not like "The P- P- P- President of Egypt is..." That's a stutter.

Biden's condition now also reminds me very much of a painting teacher I had years ago. He still knew a lot, and he had periods of clarity when he was a pleasure to talk to. He also couldn't recall certain words or names, and sometimes there were very long pauses. Sometimes he would just walk out in the middle of a critique, thinking it was over, just as Biden has walked out of ceremonies. I was happy to know him, but if somebody told me that he was the only good choice to be chief executive of the United States, I would wonder if there might not be someone more mentally sharp who could do the job instead. Nor would I want his finger on the button.

Mine has mostly gone away. I've done some public speaking and speaking onstage with bands (between songs of course) that, along with my fascination with the English language in general, my speaking is much more fluid. I don't "freeze up" any more, so to speak.

Of course he's too old. Pointing out verbal gaffes is not the reason why I think that, myself. It's more generational to me; he's wedded to outmoded views, in my opinion. I wish both major candidates were a couple of decades younger.
