RE: Damned Catholics
Vatican Museums staff start unprecedented legal action over labour conditions

The workers, mostly museum attendants, have sent a petition to the Vatican's "Governatorato", the body that administers the Vatican City State, lamenting rules that cause "labour conditions undermining each worker's dignity and health", said lawyer Laura Sgrò, who is representing them.

They include extra work hours paid at lower rates and insufficient health and safety provisions, Sgrò said.

"Workers have decided this action only after all their demands and requests over years were left unanswered," she said.
Unions are not allowed in Vatican City.

Sgrò added that, due to the absence of furlough schemes in Vatican labour legislation, workers who had been left inactive during the COVID-19 pandemic because of the Vatican Museums' closure were now being asked to hand back salaries paid during that period.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Bishop Paprocki: Biden mocks Catholic faith by invoking Christ in pro-abortion message

“Making the sign of the cross is one of the most profound gestures a Catholic can make in showing reverence for Christ’s death on the cross and belief in the Holy Trinity as we sign ourselves in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” the bishop said.

Paprocki expanded on his criticism of Biden on the diocesan “Dive Deep” podcast the following day, May 9, saying Biden is “mocking the gesture” of the sign of the cross because he was doing it “to promote something that was evil, and that’s what makes it sacrilegious.”

Paprocki did say that Biden’s support for abortion is “in effect … rejecting at least part of the Fifth Commandment,” which prohibits murder.

“[Biden] seems to be saying he has no problem with killing babies in the womb,” the bishop added.

“Even the president of the United States is bound by the truths as revealed by God,” Paprocki said later during the podcast. “We live in an age of relativism where people think ‘well you have your truth and I have my truth,’ [but] there really is only one truth as revealed by God.”

Florida priest charged for biting arm of woman he says was desecrating Eucharist

Father Fidel Rodriguez, 66, admitted to police that he bit the woman but said he did so only after she reached into the ciborium and tried to grab a host from it, damaging other hosts as she did so.

“The only defense that I found to defend something that for us, for all of us, is sacred, was biting her. I have recognized that I bite her. I’m not denying that,” Rodriguez told police, according to body camera video obtained by CNA.

“I recognize that I bite her, as a defense, and as defending myself and defending the sacrament,” he said in English with a Spanish accent.

Shocking moment priest pulls baby's head back while pouring holy water at baptism

A priest has gone viral in Brazil after he was seen in a video pulling a one-year-old baby's head while baptizing him.

The bizarre scene took place at the Parish of São Sabestião on Saturday while families gathered to celebrate the Christian rite.

Juliane and her family were angered by Father Pinheiro's behavior and called on the church to open an investigation, according to Brazilian news outlet G1.

'We are angry, we feel powerless,' she said. 'We don't understand how someone who was supposed to be the representative of the word can act like this towards such an innocent being. I want justice! This cannot go unpunished.'

Her sister and the baby's godmother, Symone, accused the priest of showing less compassion toward Jhullie in comparison with the other children who were baptized.

'At that moment we did not have the attitude to take measures and contain him right there because there were other children being baptized,' she said. 'Ant their baptisms were carried out with all the care and patience, totally different from baptism of our little Jhullie. If we can call it a baptism.'

Oh well, most, if not all, of Catholic clergy are gays so it doesn't matter. It's just gay boys having fun with slurs.

POPE FRANCIS
GAY SLUR AIN'T REALLY A BIG DEAL
... Says Openly Gay Priest

Father James Alison -- a practicing Catholic and theologian in Madrid, and who's openly gay explains when the Pope speaks to Italian bishops behind closed doors, he's most likely addressing a group primarily composed of gay men -- with FJA theorizing he's likely fully aware of their sexuality 'cause he lives with them.

Father James explains it like this ... he says among bishops, there's usually a group of gay men who hypocritically believe the Church's ban on gays doesn't apply to them personally -- but they don't have any issue imposing it on others.

Meanwhile, another gay priest doesn't find Pope's slur so benign

I am a gay priest. We need more than an apology for Pope Francis’ homophobic slur.

I am a priest who is publicly open about belonging to the L.G.B.T.Q. community. As a gay man, I was shocked and saddened by the Holy Father’s reported use of an offensive slur during a discussion with Italian bishops. While ostensibly justifying a policy of refusing to accept gay men into seminaries, the pope reportedly stated that there was too much “frociaggine” in seminaries. Let’s be clear about the slur that was used so we also understand the controversy. The word is an offensive term often employed in a pejorative/derogatory manner to refer to gay men, one vulgar enough not to be translated here.

But regardless of the speaker’s intent, such language is dehumanizing. Slurs and offensive names are perhaps too easily dismissed by those who are not their targets. But make no mistake: Derogatory slurs dehumanize sexual minorities. They call our humanity into question.

Moreover, the harm goes beyond those who were directly offended by the pope’s homophobic slur. The pope’s use of such language gives support to public policies that endanger the lives of sexual minorities around the world. Those who seek to exclude gay, lesbian and trans people from social life and juridical protection can—and will—take comfort and solace from the Holy Father’s words.

Are gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and queer people fully equal members of the body of Christ? The debacle over Francis’ remarks betrays the obvious answer: not yet.

Pope Francis allegedly tells group of priests ‘gossip is a women’s thing’

The pontiff, 87, is reported to have advised the priests against “badmouthing” in parishes and congregations, before allegedly saying: “Gossip is a women’s thing.” He is alleged to have added: “We wear the trousers, we have to say things.”

Marco Perfetti, the director of Il Silere Non Possum, said the site had audio of the discussion, which he claimed was recorded by more than one participant at the event and backed up by sources. “We have the recording of the pope saying this,” he said.

1500+ Catholics call on University of Notre Dame to rescind award given to pro-abortion Joe Biden

Currently, over fifteen hundred alumni and friends of Notre Dame Catholic University have signed a letter appealing to the university to withdraw the 2016 Laetare Medal awarded to then-Vice President Joe Biden.

“Despite personally identifying as a practicing Catholic, President Biden has become the Church’s most prominent, powerful, and ardent adversary on abortion,” Timothy Dempsey, Executive Director and Charter Board Member of Sycamore Trust, a group dedicated to protecting Notre Dame’s Catholic identity, told LifeSiteNews.

Despite being a self-proclaimed Catholic, Biden is openly opposed to Catholic doctrine on a number of issues, including abortion and LGBT ideology.

Openly opposed, or merely of the position that it isn't the American government's job to enforce Catholic policy?
