I always find it odd how people insist Ukraine should give territory for peace I often wonder how eager they would be to hand over parts of their country to a  foreign power.

In fairness, putin seems eager to sell russia out to china in order to lose more slowly in ukraine, so there are people who like that shit.

A huge challenge that both Ukraine and Russia is going to face is demography. Ukraine does not want to lower its conscription age from 25 to 18 because there aren’t that many male individuals in that age group already. The same works for Russia that suffered 300,000 causalities and a similar number of people (mostly young people) fleeing the country. So in any type of post-war scenario both countries will have to choice but to turn to foreign workers to rebuild their economies. Just like post WWII Germany.

Trump has promised Tariffs on Russia if it doesn't come to the negotiating table with Ukraine.

F'ing tariffs? Does Trump think they are a magic spell or something? Wave them around and it immediately gets what he wants?

I was basically ignoring anything Mr. Trump and his entourage said or did during his first term. It’s not that I don’t respect the choice of the American people. But I’m not a private detective either. If a man or woman need to say something, he/she should just say it right?
 
   The other option is to read news sources who are sort of specialized in reading whatever it is Mr. Trump is saying or doing. But none of these sources are people with telepathic abilities either. So the best option seems to let it be for the next four years.

Despite everything, everyone wants to believe that President Trump can make a change (As in “the hair of the dog that bit you”).
 
The reality on the ground is that Ukrainians are exhausted. With those North Korean suicide squad (who blow themselves up in order not to become POW’s) I understand how the morale must be very low on the frontline. They also simply cannot recruit more people. Like many ancient East-bloc countries, Ukrainians simply didn’t make enough babies in the 90’s and in the first-half of the 00’s.
 
Yet Russia is also finished. If 150,000 Ukrainian were killed until now, that figure must be at least two time more on the Russian front. So the idea is still nice. What if he offers something to Putin that will make him want to stop this atrocity? Maybe we should just wait and see.

Maybe it's not my place as an American to tell Ukrainians when to surrender their own nation. I could see Trump emulating Chamberlain and selling Ukr down the river, though.

Masterful. Zelensky explains to the world...and to an audience of one who's always wondered what good nukes were if you can't use em...that it was a mistake to denuke.

Trumps going to get played like a fiddle by the man he tried to extort. He's probably been jonesing for another photo op with zelensky on the hopes some strong man might rub off on him. Guy needs a top up.
