How is the distinction not clear when I state "Setian-atheist rather than agnostic atheist;" or is that math too complicated? You know, compare like terms? Come to the obvious conclusion that I see agnosticism in a comparable light to being Set, sizing up another god for destruction.
That's the clear conclusion to be drawn from "religious views: atheist," but because you are an evolved predator, you thought to extrapolate weakness; got yourself Set up.
Better luck next time.

From all the things they could've asked you, they go for the apparent weak-point, funny how that works, huh? Can't get anymore disingenious than that.
I mean, they could have asked if you were a relative/fan of Georg Cantor, but the choice to ignore that in favour of your temple of set descriptor really shows how desperate some people are to shove atheism as a religion. I find that interesting in a psychoanalythic way.
Sleazy bunch aren't they?

You need to do better than that House. Can an atheist call themselves a "christian atheist"? What is the difference between "setian atheist".
Fuck off... at least on that. I love your insight, however, on most posts I have seen of yours.

WTF?
If you are an atheist, do you need some kind of descriptive word to add to your atheism?
Setian Atheist....add your special extra belief House and Lastpoet....????
Christian Atheist....................................................................
Agnostic Atheist .... an actual description in Greek.
Dionysian Atheist....If only it could be true!
Islamic Atheist ....???
Atheist...one who does not believe in god/s
any questions?

ok lets bring a second opinion here. i want to make it clear that i don't believe it is a religion b/c they don't believe in a god. please just read what i have to say before you pass judgement.
atheism is a religion b/c they believe there is no God. to say something like this is not a scientific statement it's a religious one. it's not even scientific to say that there is most likely not a god. this is because science is about what we can observe and prove on the physical world. to say there is no god is to say something spiritual and science does not cover that topic. so you can say that i see no proof of a god and it is not a religious statement but to say that there is no god is a spiritual statement derived from your own spiritual beliefs.
please no personal insults, just refute my logic if possible.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

How delightful! Are you here to defend "Setian Atheism"? The post is about this, and closely related issues.

Chip,
Atheism is a rejection of religion and god.
It is not a set of doctrinal beliefs of any kind. There are no tenets of atheism.
It both isn't and cannot be a religion.
"Believing in Atheism" is an oxymoron.
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925
Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan

Thank you Darkest, right to the point of all of this!

agreed atheists have no religious doctrine or beliefs morally (unless you count humanism) but how can you reject someone you don't think exists? and if you don't think he exists then that is a statement of your spiritual beliefs not science.

Just because it is a belief, doesnt mean it is spiritual, and doesn't mean it is a religion either. The "belief" that there is no god or deity is the lack of spirituality, even though it might relates to it, it is the lack of it. To think or belief there is no god make it a religion, then you have a lot of religions. You are abuddha, avisnu, and so on, and all of your nonbelief in each of these deities make it a religion, so you are not a protestant, you have many religions. While most people are atheists are associate to science, and most scientists are atheist, the two are not one, so it doesn't have to be science to "not" be religion/spiritual.

Well said! Chipan believes in every god/dess that humans have ever invented by his own standards he applies to us.
Not going to heaven that way Chipan!
