There is a wide gulf between the current state of an organism whose ancestors first appeared on the scene some six million years ago and a species evolving consciousness from a formless void in just 6k years. Perhaps you just fell for the nominal fallacy: You've heard the term Young Earth Creationism online in atheist circles and assumed the name gave you some kind of insight into people's actual beliefs.
You should go tell your local shaman that you don't think god created the earth. See if he feels like you need reeducation.
