No; Genesis introduces Earth as already existing, empty of life and covered in water, before creation week. And why would consciousness require any time at all? You went from a single cell to a conscious infant in under nine months, is that time frame also teensy-weensy?

‘Without form and void.’ SDAs generally believe in a young Earth (though you yourself may not) and a literal interpretation of scripture.
There is a wide gulf between the current state of an organism whose ancestors first appeared on the scene some six million years ago and a species evolving consciousness from a formless void in just 6k years.
Again, why don’t you just invoke the magic you believe in and have done with it?

Creation week, lol.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Does formless and empty mean non-existent? No; the narrative is literally one of preparing the planet for life, and not of creating a planet from scratch. I don't know a single SDA that would argue otherwise.
Perhaps you just fell for the nominal fallacy: You've heard the term Young Earth Creationism online in atheist circles and assumed the name gave you some kind of insight into people's actual beliefs.

You should go tell your local shaman that you don't think god created the earth. See if he feels like you need reeducation.
