17th of May, 1944, Lone Tree Hill.

The 158th infantry, Bushmasters, largely comprised of hispanic and native soldiers from arizona and specialists in jungle warfare, are charged with assaulting the command post of the very well trained japanese infantry forces holding a steep sloped 175ft tall overwatch of Maffin Bay. They fought for a month, it went to hand to hand combat. Their retreat was eventually ordered and 10 days later fresh faced troops took the hill and the glory. 1200 casualties overall. The japanese infantry division had been utterly destroyed, 4k casualties, the remaining 2k no longer a threat to allied forces, many trapped in now collapsed caves, and would soon become pows. Not satisfied with resting on their laurels, the surviving members of the 158th would then engage in an amphibious assault which broke the back of the japanese supply lines to indonesia. Maffin Bay became the staging area for Biak, Noemfoor, Sansapoor, Leyte, and Luzon, the liberation of the phillipines. They were then tapped for the invasion of the japanese mainland itself.

Edward Martinez, a 158th vet with two bronze stars, when asked about his friends who lost their lives securing our victory in the pacific said "Well, that's life I guess. We gotta keep defending freedom". Their motto? Cuidado! Take Care.

July, 1944, Italy.

The 92nd infantry division, Buffalo Soldiers; with the designation of "colored", was attached to 1st Armor, fighting alongside the 442nd. They served under segregation as the only african americans in combat roles in the european theater. They crossed the Arno. Occupied Lucca. Penetrated the Gothic Line. By April 18th an element of the 92nd took control of the Sechio vector from the 442nd and pursued the remaining german forces through an unending retreat until the overall collapse of all german forces and subsequent surrender. They suffered 2997 casualties which produced two medal of honor recipients..but those would not be awarded until 1997. Their motto? Deeds Not Words.

Vernon Baker, the surviving medal of honor recipient, recounted having experienced racism and segregation, and the knowledge that the men he was serving with did not like or care for him. He was told to his face that black people were incapable of fighting. Also, though, of feeling he had nowhere else to go and that in spite of his mistreatment by americans and america it was his duty to defend it. He would serve as a paratrooper in the korean war as well.

Now if you added the plural to include other races, then what you wrote is still hogwash, because whites aren't descendants of blacks or Mexicans or Asian-Americans etc. So either you think only white created American culture, or whites are descended from non-whites. Blood and soil day has officially arrived!

May 30, 1890. John A Logan, commander in chief of the grand army of the republic (a precursor to the modern day dept of vet affairs) proclaims this Decoration Day - to honor the union fallen. The VA itself would later credit the groundswell to one Mary Ann Williams (nee Howard) of Columbus Georgia, the home of the infantry. Her proposal, in 1866, was to spread flowers on the graves of all us soldiers, union confederate and otherwise. These actions are still up for review and reward.

Over one million soldiers have died pursuing and maintaining the american experiment on and from every continent in direct and complimentary proportion to the ethnic demographics of the country at any point in-time-of-conflict. It was blazing hot, with temperatures hitting 98 degrees Fahrenheit (37 Celsius) in late afternoon.

A small group of protesters, including an Israeli member of parliament, meanwhile, stormed a compound in east Jerusalem belonging to the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA.

Reminds me - very strongly - of Parade Season in Northern Ireland. On 12 July, Protestant lodges would march through Catholic neighbourhoods, beating lambeg drums and singing vile songs to celebrate the Battle of The Boyne. The intent was nothing more than intimidation.
