Russia and Ukraine
RE: Russia and Ukraine
Still, the most disturbing part of this so called peace plan is that it does not mention accountability for Putin at all. Not one word about justice, trials, or consequences.

Putin is a war criminal, a terrorist, and a mass murderer. He ordered the invasion of a sovereign country in violation of the UN Charter. His forces executed civilians in Bucha, Irpin, Mariupol, Izium, and dozens of other towns.

International investigators have documented mass graves, torture chambers, filtration camps, and deliberate attacks on hospitals, schools, evacuation routes, and residential districts.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Trump is certainly no better.  And the two working as a team is even more disturbing.

Putin may have mass graves, etc...but between the COVID debacle and now the food and health care withholding by Trump...he is just committing mass murder a bit more slowly.

Birds of a feather and all that.

Let's be super clear here.  Ukraine getting carved up by the peace proposal offered would be very good for the us.  Dogshit for russia and ukraine.  It works for putin, though, keeps him from going out like gaddafi.  Sort of funny to imagine it's credible, though, yeah?  Neither ukraine nor russia would keep the promise they made to sell themselves for parts to the us.

It would, however, allow il Duce to strut around with empty claims to sell to his supporters.

The Irish government has approved an extra €125m (£110m) in support for Ukraine in a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

It comes after the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Dublin in the Republic of Ireland for an official one-day visit.

So the Trump's administration is giving Putin a go ahead to invade Europe if he wants to.

Bessent: "Now Putin has started making incursions into the NATO borders. The one thing I can tell you is the US is not going to get involved with troops or any of that. We will sell the Europeans weapons."

Quote:The former commander of the Russian Ground Forces, Vladimir Chirkin, has criticized Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, saying that Russia was "once again" not ready for the war.

"Moreover, we had the traditional underestimation of the opponent and overestimation of our own military," Chirkin said in an interview with Russian outlet RBС on Nov. 27.

Quote:He blamed "the entire Russian intelligence community" for the withdrawal from Kyiv Oblast, saying that the country's leadership was given false information that "70% of the Ukrainian population is with us and 30% is against us."

Looks a lot like Bush the Junior's misunderestimation of Iraqis welcoming us as "liberators" in '03, doesn't it?

Indeed. Here's what gets me, though. The commanders already knew that they couldn't trust reports and inventories from a system intentionally designed for corruption. In fact, each one of russias three key assumptions had been read for filth by russian planners before they pulled the trigger. They just didn't see a world where all three were simultaneously bullshit.

The world we live in, as it so happened. Part of me thinks these guys must have believed...in a way that probably sounds absurd to your average joe but completely on brand for brass to joe joes...that the war would provide them an oppurtunity to reform their fucked up gang of window thieves and toilet enthusiasts. A perfect storm domestically - since russians wives and mothers seemed to believe that this generation of sons and husbands weren't worth as much as their ever decreasing and now totally stalled death benefits.
