I know quite a few people that have converted to Islam, mostly white girls that are drawn in by the whole ~modesty~ thing.
I just don't understand why women like that want to convert to a religion which requires them to be covered head to toe while in public. I understand they may want to be modest, but requiring headscarves or in some countries burkas, not to mention not being allowed to walk around without being chaperoned, is just crazy. Perhaps maybe they want to be treated as doormats or as property, I don't know.
If I lived in a culture where I was already considered someone's property and if they did anything to me the blame would likely fall on me regardless, I would probably want to go unnoticed as much as possible. That's my initial thought as to why someone would want to dress in such away, besides the obvious religious brainwashing.
