Probably not.More likely that chips 'n' vinegar has simply managed to learn to block out inconvenient or distressing evidence. I doubt it's even concious, which is unsurprising.
It's also a true Christian who could not possibly say anything unkind, therefore he didn't.
When dealing with such fools, best not to ascribe to malice that which can be explained by ignorance and incompetence.

Ok Phil, I apologize for not seeing your balloon example. However, this example is based on the assumption nothing is compressing it. If something were, it would indeed be more curved.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. And what would that something be?

Could be a force or a multitude of things. We have barely touched on physics as we have discovered quantum mechanics. We aren't even close to explaining such things.

I'm wondering why he even invoked quantum anything, or even a "force". It's the waters above the firmament Chip. Just go with it, there is a vast undiscovered ocean surrounding the entire cosmos. If not, why not?
