You are confusing me when you also describe yourself as a pantheist? Please define pantheism.

I often feel mystical feeings in relation to nature and the universe. Here is an eloquent description of Naturalistic Pantheism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naturalistic_pantheism.

Being an American I cannot sympathize when people from the UK complain about the level of infiltration religion has in their country.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Although the UK is typically assumed to be a secular nation, the UK government — constitutional monarchy — is technically an Anglican theocracy. Queen Elizabeth II is still "Head of State." There is some interesting information here: http://www.royal.gov.uk/MonarchUK/Queena...gland.aspx.

Technically yes, but nobody really cares do they?
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

Quote:As shared in my introduction, I suffer from Christianity-based religious psychosis on a number of levels.

Is that a clinical diagnosis?

Logic cares, far too much. He just finished saying he's obsessed, and showing he is not quite firing on all cylinders.

Whether or not anybody cares, the fact still remains.

That's interesting. They claim to be operating in deficits. Do you have a source? Catholic Charities is sixth in the US in expenses (Forbes), which doesn't count the churches giving independently, or the number of Protestant churches (which outnumber them). If you're counting old European cathedrals, I believe the host countries would rather you didn't ruin their tourism by demolishing them. Local businesses are profiting off them more than the church, that's for sure. There may be some power- and money-hungry people out there, but you can wager there are more outside of the church than in it. Nonbelievers are always searching for ulterior motives for Christian leaders, but I have yet to see correlative evidence. It's hard to blame you, I guess. Either Jesus is God or there has to be some other fantastical solution... like two-thirds of the world being under some grand delusion by the most evil organization in the history of mankind. Do you read Harry Potter?

I refuse to believe that 71% of the population (not including other religions) believe in god.

I agree that the majority of the UK population are obviously not fundamental Christian creationists; however, I have a hypothesis that the large majority of individuals in UK are "soft" Christians who, if you asked them directly, would admit that they believe in a "higher power." My hyposthesis is backed up by hard evidence from the UK Census survey (71% Christian.) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-12507319

Well first of all the article you linked claims 72% in England and 65% in Scotland in the 2001 census, which is 11 years ago.

The same article you linked to also says "They prefer to use the British Social Attitudes survey, carried out annually by the National Centre for Social Research, which paints a picture of a less-religious country, with 51% describing themselves as non-religious and 43% as Christian."

Lol, I wish only 70% of my country believed in god. In the good'ol USA, we have about 90% theists, and they stick their fingers into everything. I've considered moving to somewhere in Europe, but that seems like. . .surrender.
What falls away is always, and is near.

Also, I am not pretending to be female, this profile picture is my wonderful girlfriend. XD

Maybe we should do something about it.
