Actually, according to the article, the man doesn't have to see the woman. He just has to THINK a woman will be watching. So muslim men never think of women? That explains a lot.

Besides, it's really hard to visualize a society in which members of the opposite sex do not socialize with eachother.
Even I in all my shyness have to socialize with female members of my society. It does not really matter if our society is predominantly moslem, most people do not lead the moslem lifestyle. Certainly, I don't know what kind of an effect it has on our or my own intelligence.
Being unable to get a GF did not make me any smarter.
However, I don't know if I'd be better at math if I had a gf.
