I don't think Obama opposes gay marriage. I think he opposes not getting enough votes. Hot button subjects will be dealt with as carefully as possible in an attempt to avoid alienating either side of a particular fence. That's how politics works. Unless you are Joe Biden. Then you just say the first thing that pops into your head. It's very nearly honesty. Heheh!

I think that if Obama (certainly Biden) could make an executive decision that would not have political fallout... He would make marriage officially between two people... regardless of gender.

Not sure it falls under the executive authority anyway. Individual states set thier own requirements and recognize the marriage acts of other states via the "Full Faith and Credit" clause. I beleive it would literally take an act of Congress.

^ Funny. Why would I vote for someone that doesn't promote gay marriage? When if you look at it, it is more than possible that I will infact desire to marry a woman one day? Could be a man also, never know. Love and sexuality are fluid. If I was planning on voting for him because of his stance on gay marriage, I would be a fool. Have you even SEEN the other options for this election? Have you? If you'd like to have a republican in office, (assuming you live in this country), then go right on ahead and vote for one! Conservatives are ridiculous.

I don't live in your country, but if I did, I'd probably vote for a much higher purpose than the one you vote for, or claim to vote for.
