Can YOU still be a firm atheist after watching these?

Oh, it does.
Oh dear.. slight digression xD
But yeah erm... that's true that Islam started some time after Christianity. I don't know if the religions existing there before it acknowledged Jesus as well. But Jews do acknowledge Jesus EXISTED on the whole, AFAIK. Muslims say he's an important prophet. I dunno, that's fairly reasonable evidence to me that he did at least exist, especially when Corinthians is ALMOST contemporaneous. Mark isn't too far off, but I agree it's mega weird that there were no writings during his life o.O When I mentioned "good counter-evidence" I really meant stuff like evidence for Jesus (which a lot of atheists I know (certainly not everyone - every atheist is different, ofc) don't even seem to want to learn about at all, they just push it away!) and NDEs (again, a lot of people push them away before even really knowing what things like DMT and hypoxia ARE... lol). Seems like... some people out there really WANT to believe. And some people out there really want NOT to believe... and then you also get a fair number of people who simply want to know the truth, and try to push what they actually want in their minds to one side. I think the third way is the best way to be, IMO "Minds are like parachutes - they both work best when open." Yeah, the third way leads to atheism.
Again, show me evidence for Jesus. Until you provide that, you are just saying something exists without proving it exists. Most of us here have looked for said evidence and come up with nothing. As for the digression, this thread needs it. It's about as sincere as an Oscar speech.
Seems appropriate

There are plenty of references, Christians just compiled most of them into the Bible. Dr. Ehrman cannot be confident in his statement. We are unable to prove the dating of various documents before 2nd century, but that does not mean they were not written before 2nd century. Copy date is different from original writing date. <100 years is actually very good, considering Alexander the Great's earliest copies of history were written 400 years after his death, Caesar's 950 years after his, and Plato's 1250 years after his. If they are considered trustworthy, why not Jesus? And don't use the word "conspiracy." Quote:Easy to say when you conveniently dismiss every NT book that does mention Jesus. Jesus did exist, but he was an alien (from Uranus, actually). If you believe he is an alien you'll clearly see that he is, indeed, an alien. I mean, come on. The pale skin, blue eyes, and brown hair? He was supposedly born in the Middle East! Obviously he didn't belong to the region and was an alien. The "Holy Spirit" was the name of his space ship, incidentally. |
