there's a thread going about this story on one of the RC forums i'm on, and the general consensus is the fucktard rapist got what he deserved. people like that have no place in the world. even in prison where fucked up people can be the norm, they don't even tolerate rapists.

it's not murder if the person is physically and psychologically harming an innocent child. that poor little girl is going to have to deal with what happened to her for the rest of her life, and so is her father. it's a losing situation for everyone, but it's certainly not murder.
Deadly force is justified to stop a rape or murder. This wasn't a case of vigilante justice. It was a case of a man stopping his daughter's attacker in the act. The guy didn't deserve to die, but that is the gamble you take when you rape someone.

Padraic, quit placing this guy on a pedestal. He didn't want to kill the guy, and glorifying his unintentional killing is wrong. He should be glorified for protecting is daughter, not for dealing death. Slave to the Patriarchy no more

I don't think deadly force is justified to stop a rape. Rape is bad, but it is not anywhere near the equivalent of taking a life. Other crimes car be far worse than rape and still not come anywhere near taking a life. Get over the stupid fucking littlemindedness about rape. RE: A person on another forum was mean to me!

I'm not so sure that rape is "less" than taking a life. The scars it leaves can make the victim stop living in many ways, sometimes literally.
