Note that this is pretty much a universal online convention and has been for damn near all of the online era since lower-case capable displays became ubiquitous.
But hey, feel free to be a special little snowflake and do your own thing.
However, don't be surprised if people think you're being a dick for doing it.

On a planet of 7 billion it will never be possible for everyone to like everyone else, not even within a shared label.
But having a pet peeve, which everyone has, is just a pet peeve. My mother has a tendency sometimes to get angry but sometimes what she is really angry at isn't the first thing she starts on about and sometimes I have to dig for it, that is MY pet peeve, but I still love her.
And she too has some about me, she has ALWAYS hated my living style. She likes things in a certain place and white glove clean. I don't care about looks, just as long as I can function. I live by myself now so I can do what I want, but when I am at her apartment, I put up with her peeve and put things back where they go.
I think it is silly to call someone a dick just because you have a peeve about the way they do things, otherwise none of us could get along with our co-workers, family or friends.
Think about this the NEXT time someone you personally know and like pisses you off, but please don't tell me that has never happened in your life.
Some people are spelling nazis, some people hate loud chewing, some people hate waiting in lines, some people hate wrinkled cloths and sure, some people hate CAPS.
Ok, but just because someone does something you don't like doesn't make all of them bad, it just means that you personally don't like it. What bothers one person may not bother another.

Oh, I do too. I called you a dick because of what I see as an aggressive and adolescent attitude. I could also have said; dill, drongo or dropkick. The terms are interchangeable. Please note that I did NOT call you a cunt,as that would have been an insult rather than just a blunt description of behaviour.

Fine, call me a "dick". But that is exactly the point. Our species spends way to much time politically and violently globally trying to silence dissent and and blasphemy, but in general to all reading this to imply or think that minorities and atheists don't do the same thing is absurd. The objections raised here on questioning peoples beliefs proves to me that even atheists are no different.
When you understand why I am not screaming because you called me a "dick", then you will understand why I am being a "dick".
I hate political correctness and I have seen far too much of human history to understand why "don't pick on me" is a bad tactic.
Call me a dick all you want, I still get to go to bed at night without fearing you or you fearing me. THAT IS THE POINT.
So yea, if it gets more people to the point of being less PC and less thought police I will continue to be a "dick". I value my rights too much to hand those rights into the hands of others, and if that means I get offended by the words of others then "dick" is the worst I have to endure.

And while we are at it, if anything really offends me, it is your over use of the sarcastic angle emotocon
Change it up would ya?

Brian, the person who needs some variation on the theme is YOU. See how I used caps there to EMPHASIZE? Give it a rest, man, and get back to applying your mind to the crap here that matters.

NO I WILL NOT GIVE IT A REST, EVERYONE MUST USE CAPS LIKE ME! YOUR NEXT POST MUST INCLUDE CAPS, OR THE ALMIGHTY PINK UNICORN WILL SMITE, SMOTE OR SMITTEN YOU!(Could never figure out which was more deadly, I wish someone would clue me in)
And what is the "crap" here that truly matters? That we never offend or disagree?

No one here has objected to questioning anyone's beliefs, and the fact that you keep harping on that idea really makes me question how tied in to reality you actually are.

You're offended? El fucking stiffo. I'm not offended by you, simply mildly annoyed. Can't be bothered with your puerile posts most of the time.
