RE: Can we have an honest, balanced, down to earth discussion about feminism?

Here's another example of feminism gone disastrously wrong:
Joss Whedon fans, cringe
The real highlight of this page is in one of the comments. The author of the original post seems to be of the school of thought that considers almost all heterosexual sex to be rape. The author of the comment gave this reply:
What your definition of rape does is trivialize what happened to me and other victims around the world. If that is rape, then you'd have to invent a whole new word for what happened to me.
I found out about this page on TVTropes a couple years ago. I forget which page it was on.

Christianity is about spitting and forcing others to swallow.

Yeah, I've learned to stay away from the online comments sections. If the article you read is crazy, the comments will be even worse.
As for the idea that all heterosexual sex is rape, that comes straight from Andrea Dworkin. She also thinks of pornography as rape, whether it's solo scenes, lesbian or man on man. I could spend all day writing a rant on how fucking crazy she is; don't get me started. Thing that pisses me off the most is, she's taken seriously! She can make statements that are absurd, outrageous and offensive and intelligent people are willing to listen to her and believe her!

Fixed that for you. There are some cool, moderate Christians out there that don't want to force anything on anyone, but there are fundamentalists, religious and otherwise, who want to force all kinds of absurd ideas on everyone.

I'm really disappointed with some vocal members in the feminist movement who think it is fine to attack (not just a simple disagreement, but really low-class attacks) women who hold different views of their own.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I think she is brilliant, with one the best minds of my generation, hardly a cretin. I often agree with her,but not always. Not so much with with some of the more extreme, such as Andrea Dworkin ( " all hetero intercourse is rape")
The last time I saw Greer on TV, it was an episode of BBC's Question Time. In that episode, she claimed that a father's relationship with their daughter(s) was a sexual one (a kiss for daddy). Nothing was said about little boys giving their father (or mother) a kiss. She hates men... and doesn't hide it very well.
When I was younger, I knew Germane Greer as a woman who constantly stood up for female rights. More recently, she started campaigning for pensioner rights. Basically, she campaigns for people who are like her... and screw everyone else.
I loathe her.

Good stuff all round.
The hyperfeminists are just morons. They live in the Women's studies departments of Colleges and can't exist in the real world where men might ask them for Coffee.
bait them mercilessly.
