RE: FL paper that backed Obama in '08 switches to Romney...

I would think something so apparently obvious would be backed by hard numbers readily available. But you give me opinion pieces, and Google gives me opinion pieces, which seem to carry absolutely no consensus. The only ones I see which purport numbers tend to focus on accusations. Cannot find any independent data on confirmed voter fraud cases.

The GOP has an obvious stake in stoking unsubstantiated fears of widespread voter fraud, so I am thus far forced to conclude that is precisely what they are doing and that whatever fraud exists is a: on a very small scale, b: done by both parties in roughly equal amounts, and c: probably far less prevalent now than ever before in an age of instant access to information.

Let me know what you find.

There seems to be virtually nothing in terms of independent data. I do not support changing laws on the basis of accusations and denials.

I don't understand the short memory span so many Americans suffer from.

I remember the '08 election, and how economist on both sides were predicting something close to the great depression. RIGHT?
That simply hasn't happened. It hasn't been nearly as bad as predicted.

You can't stop a speeding train on a dime. It has taken some time, but the economy HAS shown improvement. Nothing Romney has propose would speed that improvement. Quite the contrary, most economists also recognize his "plan" to be a recipe for disaster.

A few Newspapers supporting one candidate over another is meaningless. Even with the slight boost, if we voted today, Obama would win. Romney has a lot of ground to make up, and he's not doing it. Maybe if he packpeddals and lies some more, he can convince a few more groups he's really on their side, without alienating the side he just flip-flopped on, but I highly doubt it.

I do fear a Romney presidency, but I don't see it as very likely, as matters currently stand.

I have to say, at times, Romney comes off more liberal and socialist (well not hard to do because Obama is a capitalist pig) than Obama. Sometimes I am surprised the comments Romney makes would ever come from a Republican and I get infuriated that Obama endorses policies a Democrat in their right mind would think political suicide.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Erm..could you give me an instance of Romney's Liberal Socialist tendencies? I mean, the guy has taken many many many many different positions, so anything is possible, but I don't recall any that strike me as socialist, off the top of my head. Especially since he seems to think Veterans and the elderly are freeloaders.

I won't disagree that Obama is somewhat a capitalist though. He's certainly not terribly liberal (aside form his stances on gay rights and abortion), compared to liberals of a few decades ago, he'd downright conservative!
This whole country is sliding to the right.

Remember 2004. No Republican is too stupid, too inept or too dishonest to potentially be elected president.

In a more rational country, 2008 should have been a sweep like what Reagan enjoyed against Mondale. We should have seen every state but Arizona, McCain's home state, turn blue. Still 46% voted McCain.

It could happen.

Let's see about that:
Wikipedia Wrote:Politically, Iacocca supported the successful Republican candidate George W. Bush in the 2000 presidential election. In the 2004 presidential election, however, he endorsed Bush's opponent, Democrat John Kerry.[26] In Michigan's 2006 gubernatorial race, Iacocca appeared in televised political ads endorsing Republican candidate Dick DeVos,[27] who lost. Iacocca endorsed New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson for President in the 2008 Presidential Election.

Supported a democratic presidential candidates twice, supported republican candidates twice in recent memory.

One winning candidate, three losing.

Yep, this guy is quite the bellwether for change. Dodgy
