Even if statistics showed the majority of atheists came from "boring fundy churches" as you carelessly claimed, it would not prove your point. It's irrelevant.
Not meaning it to be an insult but you waving away those possible statistics like that doesn't seem all that different from what creationists do to science. Say its all coincidence and move on as if nothing happen.
I know not all hate God, some do 'cough Dawkins'.
Of course an atheist would say the evidence was lacking, you would have to be a very honest people to accept that your 'logical' view of life possibly comes from a bad experience of church. Im more talking about the lack of good church more than simply not liking church. And couldn't the evidence be lacking because of the church you go to? What if you could have been brought up in a church with more evidence for God but now you've grown up you wont look in those places? Im assuming alot in that last bit I know.

Oh I forgot you have brought Christianity up to date since you no longer can kill and torture now you use politics and the majority vote to coerce the governments to accept your Gods laws.It wasn't Christianity to you but it was Christianity to them. How dare you blaspheme against the holy catholic church and the crack pot church fathers!!You will surely burn at the stake for this!!

But I dont believe in creationism.
What is your idea of reason and what would you consider evidence for God then?

Well solar I consider reason to be that which is the most logical.Evidence for God does not exist I don't consider the so called "feeling" the holy spirit or presence of God reliable.I came from a very charismatic church and I have experienced so called speaking in tongues,I cast out so called demons from the possessed, discerning of spirits and all the other gifts described in the scriptures. But after leaving the church which was a very difficult thing for me to do and later abandoning my faith I realized that most of those experiences are psycho-emotional.
When it comes to those experiences or things I cannot explain I am content with stating that I do not know the answer but I don't give up my search for those answers.
Your favorite term "straw man" when did you learn that a week ago?I notice when you don't have answers you become dismissive and even mocking in your tone.Typical Christian arrogance in all its heavenly glory.

Fair enough. I would like to say what you say does have an affect on me, Im not simply arguing and not listening.
To be honest the fact that those feelings can be possibly be explain is the biggest trouble for me. But I dont base my faith on mere feelings.
Can you give me an example of reasoning for Gods existance or evidence for Him you would accept?

Short of God coming down from heaven and making his self known to us as he did to the Hebrews after delivering them from bondage in Egypt there is nothing that would convince me that he exist. Not a person with the so called gift of prophecy not a dream or a revelation in a trance like state which can all be explained away later.
@ fr0d0 you keep calling your so called reasoning logical but you can't seem to see beyond your own blind convictions based on your faith. What is your representation of Christianity and how does it differ from my idea of Christianity?
E I totally agree with the following statement you made earlier:"It's a common misconception that atheists hate god (ridiculous notion)".I personally would find it a contradiction to claim that I hated or was angry at God.How can you be angry or hate something that you profess and are convinced does not exist? The only time I take offense with Christianity or any religion for that matter is when they try to impose their biblical laws and precepts into the secular judicial system.
