Question for atheists...
#81
RE: Question for atheists...
For me, it's never been a question of coming to any conclusion and especially not that I shouldn't believe in this stuff. It's simply that I've never felt the need for it. As I grew in my innate atheism (innatheism?) I was able to educate myself on various aspects of the subject, such as how and when certain 'holy' books were put together. I could view these things dispassionately, as an outsider.

Put more bluntly, I was never suckered into the religious shell game before; I'm certainly not going to fall for it now.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Whereas you were already suckered into the atheistic (discipline of your choice) shell game? I see.

Yes, thank you for twisting my words and wiping your arse on them. From this point on I must remember to think twice before sharing my personal opinions on anything.

Maybe come back when you're a little more grown up? Especially since you think that anyone other than you expressing an opinion is wiping their arse. As I say, I shall not bother sharing anything else. Yay, you win!

I'm sorely tempted to reveal why my chain is so easily yanked just at the moment, but I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave previously. I'd better log off now before someone gets bitten.

well doubt mainly. Religion fell apart in my eyes the more i dug into my religious beliefs. i realized that this is not what i believe or support. i looked into what other religions were and found even more lies and weak arguments. I think when i was a child attending sunday school and the mother mary story was preached is when i started doubting. Then reading on i found it became the same conclusion with the different stories. i developed a disgust from religion and its history. i then became intrested in the debates starting with dawkins, then harris, then i found my home with hitchens. while doing this i came to the realization that i was no longer a believer and i have been growing and living much more happy ever since. i obtained a thirst for knowledge and my curiousity brought me a lust for life like never before.

Too bad you couldn't hold that thought. You wouldn't sound like such a pompous, pious fool now.
