Richard Dawkins Intellectually and Morally Crucifies Joseph Ratzinger

Yes those are interesting facts (which I don't disagree with), what I posted were also facts. Hitler hated the RCC, Protestants and (most of all, obviously) Jews. He may have liked some things about the Christian faith, however had he been successful in creating his own "denomination" it would be as extreme to Christianity as Islam is. I mean he would denounce all the Jewish roots and heritage, exclude them all from his choice of scriptures, and probably exclude any NT books that he didn't like too. So it's inaccurate to call him a Catholic in his later life.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

I do not appreciate the scapegoating of Catholics for the support of this argument.
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians."—Mahatama Gandhi. Don't get me wrong. There have been terrible things done in the name of Christianity. These things have been done with the the distortion of Christian doctrine. And as much as the Catholic Church sports its unity, its members are subject to error. It is at times like this that we need to take these errors to the general community and have them be condemned, by all of us. This rarely happens, and bad Catholics work alone.
At the same time, as in Hitler's case, it is also not acceptable for the Pope to scapegoat you atheists for the Holocaust.
With Christianity as with atheism, there is truth at the heart of our beliefs. Richard Dawkins is wrong and cowardly to single out bad Catholics and use them as instruments in his condemnation of a religion comprising of very moral men and women who would agree that the actions of Adolf Hitler were inhumane.

Why Consilius!

Welcome to the forum! And thankyou so much for that insulting derogatory little PM you sent me.

YOU don't appreciate OUR stance on cataholicism? Awww you poor wee lamb. I don't care. You have the right to be offended. You also have the right to be a slave and stupid. Just like I have the right to live my own life and defend myself (verbally preferably) from idiot like yourself; your religion is liken to an archaeological find...it just hasn't got the wit to know it is dead.

Thank you and NEVER contact me again.

You DO realize that the purpose of this forum is for atheists and theists to talk about their views. Together.
I see that as an avenue for us to come to a better understanding about what each other. That said, I would like you to defend your view for the sake of the more polite atheists who are on this forum. Why would you ignore me if you had logical support for your view?

Yes deary. this does NOT give you carte blanche to abuse the members via PM's

You are not interested in understanding (from the tenor of your PM) and you have not done this forum the courtesy of introducing yourself so please explain to me why I should not cut you down now?

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I did not realize that you found my PM offensive. I only stated fact and made a logical connection, hoping to ask you a question so I could use your response to get a more concrete statement of your argument. I wasn't going to attack your point without knowing for sure what you were trying to say. I would like to apologize and get off to a new start.
