I can believe that it's causing bigger snow storms. We're still getting snow where I live. last week was the most we've gotten all winter. could barely get out the front door.

Literally EVERY extreme weather condition from odd winters to storms have been categorically denied as being a consequence of global melting by even the melters. Yet damned near everyone outside the official melter sites assume that it is. That is a fact.

The problem people have is their implied belief is that the global climate prior to the industrial revolution was the best of all world climates despite the fact that in Roman times Mediterranean grapes were a cash wine crop in England.

Worldwide, 2001-2010 was the warmest decade on record since thermometer-based observations began.

If one takes different normalization points then zero can raised or lowered. It has no meaning with regard to the best of all possible world climates which existed just before the industrial revolution but not just a few centuries before the industrial revolution.

It is a very odd political world.

I've seen on several news sources the temp has not increased in the last 10 years, this is not my opinion, it comes from national news sources that were quoting scientists.

There are a couple of things wrong with this conclusion. For one, it depends on who you talk to. UAH has the only major temperature record that shows 98 as the warmest year. NOAA, Hadley, even NASA which uses the same basic satellite data as UAH all show warmer years since 98. For another it is a form of cherry picking. 98 was a very warm year due to an unusually strong el Nino. If you start in 97 or 99 instead of 98 the trend is an increase in temperature even with the UAH record.

Unless you're moving zero around it seems that the average temp is one degree above the set mark of zero. As I said, of coarse you do not listen, this was what was reported, if you do not like the report blame them. I also said I believe there's something going on but I do not know what it could be, I'm no climatologist. As a person who has spent many hours on lakes fishing over many years I can tell that the light from the sun is stronger. I burn quite easily and over the years have noticed that it takes far less time for me to burn than in past years. So are we sure that man's effect on climate is the biggest cause. It seems that the pollution we cause would actually block some of the incoming radiation.

The Climate is going to change... we are well past the window of opportunity to have any affect on increase temperatures, Ice-cap/ glacial melt (although what is odd is the the antarctic ice-sheet actually grew in the last two-10 years ? {would have to search for the article}).

Unsurprisingly some places on the Eastern Antarctic ice shelf are gaining ice. This is predicted by some models due to increased precipitation. However the Western Antarctic Ice shelf (WAIS) has been loosing a rapidly increasing amount of ice for the past several years. According to two brand new studies the melt there is unprecedented in the last 600 years. The indications are that the net overall result is an annual loss that has been increasing every year since the at least the early 90's.
