EXACTLY!!!!

Just like giving equal rights to Black people in the US during the 1960s, made everyone want to give equal rights to animals, microbes, stones and air!

What a load of rubbish. The only definition of marriage worth the while is "people who love each other committing to a (hopefully) life-long relationship." Nothing more, certainly nothing less.
Marcellus (approx. A.D. 298)

“I threw down my arms for it was not seemly that a Christian man, who renders military service to the Lord Christ, should render it by earthly injuries.” “It is not lawful for a Christian to bear arms for any earthly consideration.

Actually, it is Ideo. It's called an appeal to consequence. Germans in turn reduced it to the absurd.....perhaps to demonstrate how ridiculous the appeal was....

More recently, I have sent an email to the gay lobby group regarding their position on polygamous marriages. Do they think that polygamous relationships are worthy of the same equality that they are seeking? Well, it took a while for them to respond but their answer was pretty straightforward:

Stonewall does not support polygamous marriage. We are campaigning [for] allowing two people, regardless of their gender, to commit to each other through marriage.

I am certain it has probably already been stated, but marriage has been redefined throughout history.

Churches can still choose whether they want to marry same sex couples or not. The church has always had the right to deny to marry any couple, even straight couples, if it sees fit.

Besides, thankfully the UK has already legalized gay marriage. Tongue

I don't need a lesson on how black people were treated from an American and a German thank you very much. Yes, it was a form of appeal to consequence.

Why would a "gay lobby group" be in the business of supporting polygamous marriages? You're surprised when a realtions guy for a lobbying group tells you "that's not what we do"

Undecided

This, btw, would be a failed TQ, try again.

No...my question put to them was very straightforward and unambiguous. It was concerning their opinion of its legalisation, would they be happy to see polygamous marriages legalized? There was some back-and-forth before I finally got an answer out of them, I have just emailed them now asking whether or not they will allow me to release the full transcript because they do have a notice in their email saying that the contents of the emails are confidential.
