What makes you think that?
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

If the writers were divinely inspired by God, the science should have been accurate.

If divulging scientific information was the point.

What purpose would divulging scientific fact serve?

Is was inspired by God, and related in a way understandable to it's recipients. It's not beyond our abilities to see that, and to understand the real message: purpose.

No, it is creationists that think it is a science book.

We know it is myth.

Then why continually force a scientific interpretation of it?

If you dismiss it on its primitive science, then you are reading it in exactly the same way as the creationists.

Well I would have thought so pokie. But every Muslim I've seen seems to think the Quran needs to have scientific proofs.

Newton got the building blocks of physics right, but also postulated alchemy for a while. So yes, it is ok to discard crap.

Fuck the ducks, I want to know why there's a planet left at all after some global fucking flood. Maybe the fundies don't realize this, but the forces required would leave nothing in their wake but a barren rock......-if they left that....which is unlikely-.

Not even fish could survive such a flood.

Then you're only interested in current science?

Science constantly moves. I'm not saying that I think that the bible is concerned with science, but it does record what people in history held to be their best understanding of the material universe.

What's more worrying is that you think it is a science book.

That's at least part of what Genesis is, is it not? Why bother trying to explain anything about the origin of the world?

The problem is, if these primitive men invented all these tales to explain the world they saw around them in terms they could comprehend, and it's obvious in some cases this is precisely what happened, and honest Christians can admit this is what happened, when do you start to wonder if the main character of the whole thing came from the same source and served the same purpose?
