Wow...I fucking hate EA now, too. Which sucks, because they publish my favorite video game franchise ever, the Battlefield series. I'm trying to quit playing so many video games, but I was still planning on getting Battlefield 4. Now if I do, I'll have to hate myself for it.

PS2 is still best console. When I get back down to texas, I intend to get bang for my buck: fantastic games for absurdly cheap prices.

Honestly... the only way to get me to buy a PS4... is for it to have COMPLETE backwards compatibility with 1, 2, and 3. I only bought three because that's what I thought was up, but it only worked with 1 But hey, if it does have that? I'm totally sold on it.

From what's announced, it won't be backwards compatible with the PS1 or PS2, and may get PS3 compatibility in 2014. On that latter point, I expect them to turn it into a profit center (i.e. I wouldn't expect that you'll be able to load a PS3 disc without paying something to Sony).

I would expect that's it's partially for a reason similar to why you're commenting in a game thread, in a gaming subforum, when you don't play games.

As for the rest, it has to do with the fact that we like games, and hate the fact that the newest generation of consoles are completely full of fail. Kind of sucks, when the prior generation (you know, the ones that don't suck, or at least suck less) won't be getting new releases at some point.

That's why we care.

Well then... it'll be ten years before I take the plunge for the system I can get most PS2 games for about 10 dollars right now... new. And those are the good and particularly successful titles

Give it to the end of the PS4's lifetime... and its titles will be cheap as dirt I'm okay being late to the party... iz economical.

Real life is a game... pretty good graphics, but it's hard to separate the good from the bad. 6/10.

'Need' is a strong word. Do you need to have plumbing, markets, particularly clean water, or to live in a non-dystopian environment? Probably not. Should you not complain if you don't NEED to pay for these things?
