Drichman I think you've digressed from the point of this thread. The thread is about Exodus admitting their failure and the harm it has caused. Your creed and the creed it was proliferating was the cause of suicides, mental illness (defined by the APA as denying ones sexuality), and promoted bigotry in family units to the point that youngsters were being sent to Exodus for counsel and told that they are evil for being who they are, and that they should deny who they are. I think you should take a minute to digest the fact that people of your faith more qualified than you, concluded that it is impossible to change a persons' sexuality even if they themselves are willing to do it upon threat of eternal damnation. Gay men or women of the Christian faith who marry as their faith dictates they should: are a product of your doctrine, nothing more. Everyone has a right to divorce, regardless of their sexual predispositions or your vehement opinion of the matter.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
