It seems to me that protestants like more revelation(or the end of times), than catholics. Sick fucks.

When I was in my late teens, I decided to read the bible from the beginning, but it was so damn boring that I decided so simply skip to the bloody climax. It was, and still remains, nothing but a schozoprenic work of ficiton. And yes, LP, I am a prophet. I've just been waiting all of this time to reveal myself. Send money.

It's been done...and by people who know a fuck-ton more than you do. http://booksellers.penguin.com/nf/Book/B...49,00.html Quote:In this startling and timely book, Pagels returns The Book of Revelation to its historical origin, written as its author John of Patmos took aim at the Roman Empire after what is now known as "the Jewish War," in 66 CE. Militant Jews in Jerusalem, fired with religious fervor, waged an all-out war against Rome's occupation of Judea and their defeat resulted in the desecration of Jerusalem and its Great Temple. Pagels persuasively interprets Revelation as a scathing attack on the decadence of Rome. Soon after, however, a new sect known as "Christians" seized on John's text as a weapon against heresy and infidels of all kinds-Jews, even Christians who dissented from their increasingly rigid doctrines and hierarchies. Revelations dates itself to late 68/very early 69 BC. Shortly before Jerusalem was stormed by Titus. But the handwriting was already on the wall by that time.
On the one hand the guy is such a breath of fresh air its wonderful.
On the other - if he successfully turns that ship around and makes Catholicism acceptable we could be stuck with it for another thousand years. Somewhat torn here.....
I don't think all the bishops and cardinals will allow him to make Catholicism acceptable.
