IIRC, in revelation there already is mention to a false church, founded by the 666 guy, the harlot was meant to symbolize something else. But then again, I never was that good interpreting bullshit.

Yes and according to the jewish system of name number that was supposed to be nero. It's vague for the same reason as the law is, so that it can be interpreted and applied

Do you know where the real fun begins?
We will all get to see together. fore it seems all of the key players are being moved on to the board. The next big chess piece will be the one who ties or bridges the gap between government and this new 'not Christ' version of christianity the pope is creating. This guy will be able to unite all major forms of religion under one 'church.'
Then someone or some group holding(maybe even muslim as they too will be affected) on to the old system will lash out possiably at him (seemingly mortal head wound) or this new world order thus allowing him to outlaw all non- one world religion, expressions of faith. insisting that all believers take his mark..
This pope will indeed continue to deball Christianity to the point where it simply becomes a form of spiritualism that will fit any other lukewarm version of any other faith. Leaving those masses who follow that faith open to new leadership.
