Atheist or really Agnostic

RE: Atheist or really Agnostic
So unless we can see a god, we're not juistified in believing in them. Congratulations on proving our point.

Also, the analogy I employed is your own analogy with just one word changed. I agree it's a bad analogy; I was merely pointing that out to you. It's revealing how you switched from talking about a god to talking about a book.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

We can actually see and touch a 747.

We can only see fake Santas.

Have you checked them all? Maybe one is the real thing.

Plus - I have seen the real Santa Claus in a movie - which is as good evidence as your book and even more convincing.

However, if you didn't like the example, here is another one:

The Holy Bible is true. There is no mention of viral infection.
So viral infection does not exist.
Which every grown up already knows because demons cause illness.

And before you say we can see viruses remember that there is no mention in the bible of the scanning electron microscope either.

The bad analogy argument does not defeat Pascal's argument at all.

You're either a poe, or the possessor of some serious head trauma. I'm not sure which is more tragic.

Or 100% correct.

And your reply does not address anything anyone's said to you so far.

Pascal's argument is only convincing to someone already convinced. To everyone outside that bubble, it is not only ridiculously easy to refute, it was already refuted decades ago.

In fact, I may be wrong on this but didn't Pascal himself only come up with his wager in order to satirise it? I think I came across that somewhere.

You are getting your threads confused. This isn't the Pascal thread so, not unreasonably, I wasn't aiming at the Pascal argument here.

It does, however, defeat your "Bible is correct" nonsense. The Bible ascribes infectious disease to demonic possession. We now know that to be incorrect and the cause is usually either bacterial or viral infection.

Your analogy shows no basis of logic at all.

How do you know the bible is true? Can you verify all parts of it?

Given that you've completely failed to justify your belief in the bible thus far, not to mention address the contentions that I and many others have had over the past nine pages, that's the one possibility that we know isn't true.

This guy is so poe®™!

It maybe true... but it's not an accurate representation of real events.
The Harry Potter books are true, too, you know?

No one said it was a christian myth, did they?

Are you saying that anything that's not mentioned in the bible does not exist?
Or does that only apply to mythological creatures/entities?
Does the bible exist?

logic... is not a part of you...
hence, poe! or the real deal.... we need the smiley to tell the difference!

You already have refused to accept a burden of proof for your claims. That proves you cannot.

I am just starting.
