But there is a reward in saving the child.
The same reward you get for returning a lost wallet or for picking up some litter or anything that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling of being a member of a social group.

Once you receive Gods grace you feel motivated to do so through Gods love for you.

Doesn't that make your god kind of an asshole? Only a select few receive his grace?

That's not an answer to my question, though.
I asked why god determined what was right and what was wrong. Whether he had any actual reason for doing so, something that serves a purpose here, or whether he was, as my earlier example showed, like the god Nuggan, making onions into a sin because he doesn't like them.
Answer that question, why don't you?

Theists usually say something along these lines. It just means they feel guilty that being sinners they're loved by god so they need to be good because god wants them to be good.
So good is whatever god wants. If god loves you but wants you to do bad stuff, you do it because he loves you.
I think they're good because they want to convert others. And nontheists are usually moved by how "nice" religious people are when they go to church and stuff.

Anyone who wants to receive it will receive it even Adolf Hitler.

If something is from God then it is good if something is against God it is human sin.

It's just the nature of what the reality of God is and reality of human freedom of will. There is good and there is evil, right and wrong. We don't invent it we understand it.

That's the idea, though it even works for people who don't believe in God.

If something is "bad" then it is always against God wishes as this is how "bad" or sin is defined. This is Gods Moral Law and it applies to everyone equally.

Atheists want to convince others that God some kind of harmful myth rather than truth that is good to know.

Really? I don't remember doing that at any point in my life.
Now, I don't think it's a "truth", but I also don't consider it a "harmful myth".

Good to know you're atheists. But you don't see atheists ever try to argue against the existence of God or that religion is purely a man made fabrication of fairy-tales and myths? I think I may have seen that happen before with hilarious results.
Ah yes great stuff there, fun to be had by all.

Good to hear, you're just being wrong a purely logical level then I don't mind that so much. You see all things that are caused have a cause. No infinite regresses of causes either as it would take an infinite number of causation's to cause anything to happen therefore nothing would ever be caused to happen. Solid philosophical proof of God there.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

I know you're trying to solicit a reaction from me, but to be honest, I think Dawkins is a douchebag.

What caused God? What made him?
