Sorry boy,Tu quoque won't cut it.

If you want to show you are merely a normal human being, with areas of ignorance rather than a willfully ignorant fool, perhaps begin to familiarise yourself with the more common logical fallacies.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote:Tu quoque (pronounced /tuːˈkwoʊkwiː/, from Latin for "You, too" or "You, also") is a Latin term that describes a kind of logical fallacy. A tu quoque argument attempts to discredit the opponent's position by asserting his failure to act consistently in accordance with that position; it attempts to show that a criticism or objection applies equally to the person making it. It is considered an ad hominem argument, since it focuses on the party itself, rather than its positions.[1]

'Mindless' isn't insulting to Min... he knows he does it. He simply doesn't engage.. which is my point - I just wonder why he doesn't just stick with what he knows... because he does know shit.

Fr0d0, did you not read the newspaper clipping on the other topic of pics? Maybe the "Christians" where you are from have no issues, but in many parts of the U.S. (Not just the Bible Belt) they do have a problem with someone who is not a believer or any belief other than a Christians one....

Wait a minute......Did you write that opinion letter??? Devil

And what percentage of those "reported" stories account from the total number of strangers Christians welcome daily regardless of belief? I'm not saying it doesn't happen, intolerance does happen, everywhere and in every aspect of our lives. We're doing much better on the theist side then we were during the dark ages at least. :S
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

I suppose we should be thankful that Cardinal Torquemada is no longer running the show. Yes, I'll give you that one.

It's not a question of 'dim,' Lad. It's a question of you being unable or unwilling to question the bullshit that has been poured into your ears since birth.

Try to understand that had you been born in Iraq you would be wrapping yourself in dynamite to kill those lousy jesus lovers who invaded your country. Religion is a factor of culture. Nothing more.

I believe I stated, quite clearly in another topic, that I have questioned my faith and been atheist at one time in my life. Had I been born in Iraq I would not be me, thus the claim is irrelevant. What I believe has not been poured into my ears at all; I came to the conclusions on my own, and therefore the thought and belief is my own. Nothing to do with church, which I rarely paid attention to as a child, btw. Wink
