I would not usually comment on a staff matter, but given the seriousness of this issue, and the level of concern amongst the membership, I'm going to break with that tradition.

This is all my personal opinion and observation and should not be taken as an official staff position.

From the PMs Rayaan does seem to be speaking as if a decision has been made and that his behaviour was totally fine and routine in the maintenance of this forum.

The only decision that has been made to date is that Rayaan was wrong to do what he did, and that he owed Jacob an apology.

The matter is still open.

I personally consider this issue to be a very serious one - and that dismissing anyone's concerns as "whining" or the like is inappropriate and highly offensive. It's also my opinion that there are no small breaches of the privacy policy - they are all serious and should be treated as such. Furthermore, I can see that the staff as a whole has lost a great deal of credibility and trust that's going to have to be re-earned.

All I have done in this thread is post my grievances and bid a decisive farewell. As I said - This place has become a shameful joke, and this post belongs in this thread. Then my apologies. I thought that Rayaan s pm s to me were the resolution as it was all I'd heard.

And for the record, Rayaan didn't say it was "just the beginning" he said it was "the first step". Apparently that's not so bad.

To me AF is run pretty damn well and is moderated fairly for the most part, especially when it comes to theists.

However I think on this point specifically with Jacob a line was crossed, and I think everyone recognizes that. I just hope there is no long lasting damage and that Jacob reconsiders leaving as I think he brings a lot to the table regardless of whether people agree with him or not.

I agree that I'm quite pleased with the mod team excluding this incident, I know you guys are fair and balanced. Mainly I think the lack of communications about such a high priority issue is to blame here.

In fairness Tiberius did say we were discussing the situation and we are continuing to do so. I appreciate we've had a far from fast response to the rest of the forum on this issue but we are trying to get it all hashed out, which takes a fair bit of time.
