However, if you would like to continue to presume to tell me what I believe, have at it. While you're here, drink some of this Kool-aid that I made special for you. Do you regularly deny things you see in front of your eyes? For someone who can accept the existence of a being he has never seen, it is almost quite bizarre that you can claim the non-existence of anything. Have you told your girlfriend she doesn't exist yet?
No, no, I'm not telling you what you believe Shell B. I'm digging deeper into what you claim to believe/disbelieve for the purpose of greater understanding...what I've found is quite intriguing.
And Adrian, I am among a large group of people gathered together for the sake of shared thought and idealism. Whether or not that idealism is true or understood by those propogating it is an entirely different matter. And my girlfriend is actually quite existant, believe me. I would know. Quote:I'm digging deeper into what you claim to believe/disbelieve Claim to believe? Are you really arrogant enough to think that because you disagree with what I believe or don't believe that you can just say I'm lying about it? I don't think you claim to believe in god; I believe that you truly do. I just think you're wrong. It's okay if you think I am wrong, but you can't possibly say that what I believe is merely a claim. At least, you can't say it with any credibility.
Whether atheism is true or not doesn't come into whether atheism exists, or atheists exist. Otherwise I could say "creationists don't exist" (given that creationism is false), but to be a creationist, you must believe in creationism. Creationism exists, even if the so-called "creation" event never happened. Atheists (people who do not believe in gods) exist, even if God were to exist.
Your argument against the existence of atheism can be easily turned around on you to make the claim that Christians don't exist. Methinks you are trying to wage a war with semantics...AGAIN. RE: Fifty Questions That Christians Can't Answer

NO SUCH THING AS A DYING ATHEIST???
Dude. Look in the "Self Injury" thread, read my story. I was dying and I knew it. I was 100% totally convinced that when I went under that was the last of the world I was gonna see, I wasn't coming back. Right before they wheeled me away they paraded the family and friends thru, first the parents, then the girlfriend, then the sisters then the brothers then the friend. (Yes THE friend I had only one) Each one completely obviously saying "goodbye". Yup, 100% absolutely positively convinced that was the end. Game over man. Never once did I even feel compelled to call out to the supernatural. Never once did I consider praying or appealing to any God. After I did 'return' from the damn near 30 day coma and regained my alertness the doctors told me they had little hope I would pull through. They expected me to die given the loss of blood I incured. Small chance of surviving the major surgery I immediatly needed. Family and friends told me the doctors told them that and that is why they marched them all through while I was still conscious, to say goodbye. Yup 100% absolutely convinced I was dying. Still an atheist? Yup. Even on the deathbed I could not trick myself into believing something my rational self told me long ago was more fairy tales. Christians don't piss me off, it's people who make stupid statements like "There's no such thing as a dying atheist." who piss me off. Someone has a sig here that says something like "It's not christianity I hate, it's their stupid-fukin' fan club I hate." Or something like that. I couldn't agree more.
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.
--------------- ...the least christian thing a person can do is to become a christian. ~Chuck --------------- NO MA'AM
^You DO understand that it's was God's plan for all those doctors to return you to a clean bill of health? It's pretty simple, man. The fact you survived means one thing:
Build an ark. A big one. In all seriousness, I find it funny that people like Watson can't see anyone not believing in what he believes in. I'm pretty sure at this point the lock that he used to close his mind is rusty and he has long since lost the key. Everything that comes from him lately is pure confirmation bias and rationalization.
Taoism
Alex Quote Quote:I'm not sure what you're saying here. Did you just refer to Taoism as a Buddhist/Confucianism movement? Poorly worded, do not pass go, try again. Are you that thick? Funny how a little look up on Taoism and the first sentence you read is: Much of the thrust of Taoism, as we have seen, naturally motivates a reaction against the moralistic and elitist inclinations of Confucianism. Yes, the Tao "Movement" throughout Asia has been said on many occasions to be a threat to the Buddhist and Confucianism traditions etc. Buddhism Quote:Yeah, that's called fundamentalism. Hence my point, most atheist's real problem is with fundamentalism, they often just falsely equate it with religion as a whole. Rabbi, if the shoe fits, or as said before, if it walks and quacks like a duck, it must be a fucking duck, or like most nutt jobs, they would yell cat or dog first...... Quote:Hindus don't worship Buddha, and most Buddhists don't either.I never said "Hindus" worship Buddha, but now I know your an idiot, with your other statement on Buddhists not worshiping him. Just as the Christian Sect as Branches and differences in their belief, so do the Buddhists. It depends on what part of Asia you are in. Yes, the original and majority do not worship him, but there are sects that do....Look it up and enlighten yourself a little... Sikhism Quote:Sikhism isn't Neo-Pagan, they're monotheisticYou might need to tell it's followers that, because they are truly going back and forth between Hindu and Sikhism....It's already been questioned a number of times about it's beginning and what we have today.. You out of all people should know how religion changes over time... Jainism Quote:are you serious? Jainism is related to Hinduism, but they're not the same thing. Are you really that naive?? They are related in the since of how you fucking idiots are related with Christian, Judean and Islam....You three can bitch and moan on your perfection and originality all day long, but when you look a little closer, you find a lot of the same old shit...With the few differences that separated you in the first place... Shintoism Quote:Seriously man, don't talk about things you have no understanding of. My brain nearly exploded when you called Shintoism a breakoff of Buddhism and Confucianism. Are you kidding me? You really are a fucking idiot.... Look up Shinto jackass... One of the first things you will see is this quote: Quote:Shintoists generally follow the code of Confucianism. Back at you... "Don't talk about things you don't understand"..... Cheondoism Quote:They have a religious symbol, therefore they seek a theocracy...'the hell? Holy shit man... nevermind...... Tenrikyo Quote:Once again you demonstrate you have absolutely no clue what "Neo-Pagan" means I know what neo-pagan means you jackass...I simply said they are similar of how Neo-Pagan are...In other words, just as Tenrikyo's are big on environmental type worship, so are MANY branches of Neo-Pagans....For Fuck sake man, you really are thick... And again, Wiccans which of course are a branch of Neo-pagan, just as Hindu's and Buddhists etc. etc. etc. I was only making a comparison, not saying they are from the same region or were the same exactly.... Tenrikyo, : "Considered to be a variation between Shinto and Buddhism"
Intelligence is the only true moral guide...
