The atheist experience did a good number on this one when a caller said that what they were doing to the woman was right. Its worth a watch.

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House “Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom "If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched.....You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. There is a limit." - Pope Francis on freedom of speech RE: Pregnant, brain-dead Texas woman forced to carry “distinctly abnormal" fetus ...

Now in the hands of a judge.
http://news.yahoo.com/judge-considers-ca...57206.html Of course....it's a Texas judge.... RE: Pregnant, brain-dead Texas woman forced to carry “distinctly abnormal" fetus to term

Look as a blind person with hydrocephalus the disabilities of the fetus and quality of life of the fetus are not what is in question. I am living proof that disability is no impediment to life. This is about a woman's right to die with dignity! We r not chattel or incubators!

So far the judge seems to be on board.
http://news.yahoo.com/judge-remove-life-...44153.html Quote:A judge on Friday ordered a Texas hospital to remove life support for a pregnant, brain-dead woman whose family had argued that she would not want to be kept in that condition. Now we'll see if the hospital...or some jesus freak busybody...intervenes to appeal. RE: Pregnant, brain-dead Texas woman forced to carry “distinctly abnormal" fetus ...

And it is over.
http://news.yahoo.com/family-brain-dead-...49555.html Quote:FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — The family of a brain-dead, pregnant Texas woman said Sunday afternoon that she has been removed from life support following a judge's ruling that a Fort Worth hospital was misapplying state law in the case. Apparently this was not the test case that the republicunts wanted. RE: Pregnant, brain-dead Texas woman forced to carry “distinctly abnormal" fetus ...

But what else would one expect in fucking Texas?
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/01/28/te...e-of-life/ Quote:All four Republican candidates for Texas lieutenant governor agreed that state law should prevent families from removing brain dead women and their badly deformed fetuses from life support. And to top it all off, they have to go for the extra point in the stupid bowl. Quote:Patrick and Dewhurst emphasized that they’re Christians who believe in the Bible-based story of creation. Someday, Texans, maybe you'll grow up? I don't expect to live to see it. |
