I'm fine with gun ownership for home protection, but I don't agree with citizens running about town with them.

Not just around town, seeing as a surprising number of shooting deaths occur when a friend/family member accidentally shoot themselves or someone else in the home where the guns are kept (but not properly secured).
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Sorry but I will continue to carry. You can choose not to if you want to and that's fine with me. I AM safer with it. I have military training and have scored very high in sniper competitions. I know when to use it when not to and am an expert with a pistol and rifle.
I don't have a false sense of bravado. I avoid questionable situations. I use tact in my life. However if a situation presents itself and I can't retreat the gun is there and it will solve the problem.
