Don't take it personally, everyone goes to hell according to the quran.

http://quran.com/19/71-72

Now all the muslims need do is figure out if the quran is the word of god or the word of satan and they're all been deceived and condemned to hell by him.

If you actually understood the nature of the Qur'an in accordance to tafsir then you would know that the Qur'an never states this. I recommend you to brush up in your Arabic.

These ayah mention that both the kuffar and Muslims will witness hell as they pass on to the first gate of Jannah and how they will be dragged by the angels to their fate. Some will be dropped by the mala'ikah into Jahannam while others will be saved. It is psychological torture essentially

RE: Question for Muslims
Now for the million-dollar question:

Do you think they deserve it?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I was told this by a Muslim and I see no reason not to believe him. Even with your spin they're still all going to hell, or very close, so they still need to hope Allah hasn't conned them.

It's kind of strange how many of the quran translators dont understand Arabic too. There seems to be so many versions of the quran about and every one of them is full of bad translations.Thinking

A Muslim told you? Very few Muslims understand the Qur'an yet alone are honest about it. Look at Islamic apologetics. Yes a Muslim CAN go to Jahannam BUT if his evil deeds outweigh the bad he will enter the hellfire for a short time. The issue though is that just like Christianity unless you accept Allah then you are technically saved even if you endure punishment for a short while.

The translators understand Arabic but they prefer the ruling of the madahib then the literal Qur'anic narratives. THe Qur'an is translated through use of the tafsir and many exist. The issue is that they are all conflicting since the Qur'an is written in sadj prose and is in Classical Arabic which is equivalent to comparing modern English to Old English. It just makes no sense.
What you are reading is an "interpretation" of the Qur'an as many put it.

What do you mean? Are you asking if I think that an infidel to a particular faith such as Islam deserves to go to hell?

Yes. Even though the word 'infidel' is a loaded term, I'm asking if anyone at all deserves the hell you describe, for any reason.

The word infidel is not loaded, it is complete and utter bullshit because implying that it is loaded means it is full of shit when it is shit.

Nobody deserves hell on the basis on their lack of belief pure and simple. I do not even understand how Muslims making the claim that Allah is ar-Rahman(The Compassionate) and ar-Rahim(The Merciful) can even grasp that those titles contradict the concept of an unjust hell

I went to a predominantly Muslim secondary school and almost converted at one point, not because I believed in Islam or even liked it, it was mainly because I wanted to join their club and didn't want to be different. They generally didn't socialise with non-muslims, some did and one of my best friends was a muslim (I still see him occasionally, he's now married to a non-muslim, drinks alcohol and doesn't go to the mosque), and they used to play cricket at dinner time and I liked playing cricket lol.

And while we're on about very few Muslims are honest about the quran it's kind of interesting that you've changed your story from no Muslims enter hell to a few enter hell.

And it's amazing how many of them cannot understand Arabic whenever something embarrassing crops up. it's never the good parts they dont understand, just the bad parts... I doubt anyone has ever mistranslated "there is no compulsion in religion" for instance.

Those we believe in Allah and His Prophet and obey His commands are given glad tidings of a peaceful and luxurious life in Hereafter.( They will be permitted to Heaven on basis of their good deeds which is a place no one would ever have seen at all and they would live their lives their for evermore). But here again you must not be misled. Even Muslims will be accountable for every iota of deed to Allah.Good and Bad deeds will be judged accordingly. For every bad deed , they will have to suffer punishment both in their graves and when they will be called on Doom's Day.Just being a Muslim would not mean that they can go to Heaven. That would be unfair ofcourse. Hence Islam is a beautiful religion which is balanced and judgmental in the right way.

You presume you have the correct religion and measure any belief or lack their of to an unjustified absolute.
So how about me and you discuss fiqh and akida so we can see whose god trumps whose.

If you want some useful information about Islam then come to me. I am a murtad and a true follower of Islam Wink
I will never pose myself as the person who has the correct religion. I cannot even claim myself as a true Muslim. I always pray to Allah that I get as much knowledge as possible and ask forgiveness for any wrong deed I committed or for anything wrong I said to someone. I worship Him as He had said to me Not because I want to go to Heaven. Junnah might be too good for me. Divine Love is amazingly beautiful. I want to remember Him till self is forgotten. Junnah and Dozakh is not what I want but to be closer to Him is my desire. Not that I think that you are the true follower of Islam , but as I said before Never follow any Muslim for the sake of studying Islam. A lot of Muslims are not 'true' Muslims at all. But they pretend they are the only true and pious people on this earth. Quran and Sunnah is the best example to follow. A lot of things are clarified in there.

Only Allah knows and decides who will go to Paradise or not. But since during his time , people asked for reasons and evidences so that they can accept the faith . He gave some indications about determining the abode in Hereafter. Noone will go to Hell just because of his lack of belief . But there are standard guidelines which if followed ensure our way to Paradise.

Jesus_wept ! You wrongly interpreted the ayat.

I never said Muslims cannot go to hell earlier, I only referenced the ayah you spoke of. Also I am not a Muslim

Actually the part that says "there is no compulsion in religion" is not mistranslated although it is taken out of context. What it means by that is that Islam is so obviously correct that people who are kuffar are just rejecting the "truth".

What it means is that there is no conpulsion in "The Religion" or "la-Dini". The alif is always left out or it will specify only 1 specific religion. When you can read Arabic it makes things a lot more easier Wink

Quote: So how about me and you discuss fiqh and akida so we can see whose god trumps whose.

Be my guest although I do admit that if you are a Shiya then I am screwed. I just started reading al-Kafi today

Quote:I will never pose myself as the person who has the correct religion. I cannot even claim myself as a true Muslim. I always pray to Allah that I get as much knowledge as possible and ask forgiveness for any wrong deed I committed or for anything wrong I said to someone.

I pray to Allah daily, I worship Allah daily and me and you are not very different in some regards. I have a theology that is of the previous model.

Quote:I worship Him as He had said to me Not because I want to go to Heaven. Junnah might be too good for me.

No human being is fit for paradise and I personally believe I am not only fit for hell but will be there.

Quote: Divine Love is amazingly beautiful. I want to remember Him till self is forgotten. Junnah and Dozakh is not what I want but to be closer to Him is my desire. Not that I think that you are the true follower of Islam , but as I said before Never follow any Muslim for the sake of studying Islam.

I could not agree more. Personally I was not very fond of the afterlife in Islam, it was just weird. It was very carnal and sexualized and being an asexual and a functioning recluse this sounded like torture. I literally have very little knowledge on matters of the afterlife. The minute I learned about it I just stopped.

Quote:A lot of Muslims are not 'true' Muslims at all. But they pretend they are the only true and pious people on this earth. Quran and Sunnah is the best example to follow. A lot of things are clarified in there.

I would not follow the Sunnah at all. I should mention I was a Qur'anist for a few months until I wrapped up my sajjada and called it quits

The problem with ethnocentric Jewish and Arabian religious fairy tales like the Bible and the Koran is that the reader is expected to translate them every time he reads them. I suppose all of the previous translators who transcribed them into other languages didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
