Sleep Injuries... WTF?

Last night I went to bed pain-free (I'm generally very healthy and in good shape). This morning however, I woke up in extreme pain. The top of my right foot is swollen and I can't put any pressure on my foot to walk or even stand. I'm pretty sure that my wife didn't hobble me in my sleep, and I didn't get up in the night to walk anywhere (like the potty). It looks like a bad sprain, and ice and elevating it seem to ease the pain and swelling - pretty sure I'll be fine. I'm in my late 40's and this sort of thing is happening more and more (last month it was sciatica - OUCH!), and all while I was sleeping!
Has anyone else had a sleep injury that caused them extreme pain, and if so would you care to share the experience? Let's let the younger forum members catch a glimpse of the future

I went to sleep with a beautiful woman once and woke up with a mortage - but no house, a car loan - but no car, and a child support payment -but no child. The injury was fatal, my wallet died.

Sometimes I have gone to sleep with my neck tilted wrong or something, and woke up in pain. One time I slept on my stomach with my toes curled under my feet, and woke up with sore toes. Generally if I'm tired enough, and just conk out as soon as I hit the bed, chanced are something might be wrong and my body is too tired for my brain to wake me up enough to readjust myself.

On an honest note about general pain and inconvenience upon waking. I woke up to an ear/sinus infection almost a week ago that left me unable to hear out of my left ear for days. Things still sore, with the wonderful watery feeling. I've been assured that this will eventually pass - by three weeks time at most.
Three weeks...I'll saw my ear off before three weeks passes like this...

There have been times when I've been in enough pain to consider just taking a knife and carving out whatever is causing me pain. Usually a toothache or constipation. Incidentally if you can make a habit of keeping a glass of water by you and sipping from it regularly, it helps prevent things from getting clogged up. The downside being that you'll be peeing frequently too.
