I can do you one better and link the holy texts which explain it.

Chapter 1, amen.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Is there a listing for the hand grenade of antioch in there as well?
I bet your description would have been better.

Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.

But what would my experiences do for you?
And truthfully.... our "personal" experiences are the only things important to us. Correct?
So again, why would me, relating to you; miracles through my faith do anything but bring more criticism?
It works for me, and others time and time again. And that is why I have strong faith.
I see God in EVERYTHING! You see Him in NOTHING.
By this logic the bible is a fantastic waste of time. It tries to convince people with others' experiences.

Oh it is. I had to describe it so many times - to people who best grasped references to clowns and crayons - that it's risen to the level of performance art. But I have to polish my boots, and put my beret on to even come close to getting "into it"...lol.

Ronedee, is this your definition of a miracle:

Very explainable.
It's very obvious to the rest of us.
It's very real in your head.
No God, No fear.

Now there is a factor for you to chew on, why prayer doesn't work in 'every' instance. This is the kind of reasoning that helped me to free myself from religion. Notice that you have these occasions when prayer doesn't work, and your reaction was to come up with an explanation for why it didn't work that still supports the notion that it does. I saw this kind of reaction all the time when I was a believer. To me and my fellow Christians, god always answered our prayers. It was simply a matter of interpreting his motives:
- If we prayed for A and got it, god answered the prayer.
- If we prayed for A and did not get it, god withheld A from us for our own good. Therefore, he answered the prayer.
- If we prayed for A and got B, god felt that B was the better option for us and gave us that instead. Therefore, he answered the prayer.
- If we prayed for A and nothing happened, then it's not time for god to provide us with A, and we simply need to be patient. But he will answer that prayer. An alternative would be to claim that god doing nothing was the answer, and thus he answered the prayer by not answering it.
There may even be other options. The effect of this is that the believer has his belief reinforced by making the circumstances fit his belief system no matter what happens. These "coincidences" are used to strengthen the faith that was used to interpret the circumstances so that they support the person's beliefs. As with so many things, we do not apply this kind of thinking to our everyday life-- people who think like this in other areas of life are considered to be conspiracy theorists or crackpots. But if we apply it to religion, it becomes an admirable quality: faith.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Ok Ron. So tell me :-
A these kids starving to death didn't pray for food?
B God was busy answering prayers for finding car keys or healing tummy aches
C other
How would you go about explaining to them how God answers prayer?
This never used to piss me off before. If any of the 26000 people who will die of starvation TODAY were living next door, and you thanked God for the mcnuggets on your plate, would that not make you an arse hole?

Oh snap!
Clearly, those children are blind, lacking the great faith that God has bestowed Ronedee with.
