Correlation/causation....lol. But honestly, I wouldn't rock the boat if it's working for you.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

-You might ask him why, if the Bible is true in every particular, it lists bats among the birds. But we know that bats are not birds, something God is (apparently) unclear about.
It's pointless to argue with this type of creationists by pulling this up. They will believe anything the Bible says, and discredit everything science has to say. If the Bible says bats are birds, they will then believe that bats are birds. If science says bats are not birds, they will either ignore it or find some "evidence" against the assertion. Like, I don't know, "Bats have wings and birds have wings. Therefore, bats are birds".

They will use the old "it didn't say birds, it said flying creatures" explanation. Apologists spend so much time papering over one inconsistency after another that they don't stop to look back and realize just how much papering over they need to do to try and keep their belief system together. YECs and other literalists have to work even harder, because they have to explain things that most other Christians long ago gave up and relegated to "analogy" or "metaphor" status.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Oh to hell with bats and birds...Vader finds their lack of wallabies disturbing. I've always thought that the dead giveaways weren't the things they got wrong - but the things they didn't "get" -at all.

Now not on my phone, so I can expand a bit...

Why don't I ever meet such disfunctional people?
Oh, maybe it's because I live in Europe! Tongue

1. The Bible is the Word of God, the ultimate truth. God knows more than humans, since He is omniscient by definition, so anything He says is true. Therefore the Bible is true.
This is a retarded thing to say... like others have said, circular reasoning is flawed.
There's no way to verify:
1.a - Is the bible the word of god?
1.b - Is there a god to begin with?
1.c - How has this "Word of God" traveled to human minds and to the paper?
1.d - is the bible true?
1.e - is the bible honest? (as in written by who it claims to have been written)

(July 8, 2014 at 3:49 pm)Baqal Wrote: 2. Humans, on the other hand, will never know as much as the Creator. Because they have a limited capacity to understand, they will always be below the Creator's knowledge.
Another retarded claim.
How can this person know anything about any creator being?

(July 8, 2014 at 3:49 pm)Baqal Wrote: 3. Scientists are limited to observing and testing the principles of nature only for the present. They will never be able to know what happened in the past.
And one more retarded thing.
All the stars we observe, emitted their light years ago (except for the sun, that was 8 minutes ago). By measuring anything about the stars, we are measuring how they were back when they emitted that light, not how they are now.

Apart from that, there's no reason to even consider, let alone assume, that any of the laws of physics changes with time.

(July 8, 2014 at 3:49 pm)Baqal Wrote: 4. Charles Darwin, the father of evolution, was a racist and believed that there were higher and lower races of people. The whole theory of evolution is based on this racially discriminative principle.
Now this is what I call self-description.
This guy is racist, but knows people aren't very fond of racists, nowadays, so he tries to shift attentions away from him...

Also, a terrible misunderstanding of what the Theory of Evolution states.

(July 8, 2014 at 3:49 pm)Baqal Wrote: 5. Are you really asking me to believe that a star, which came out of nothing, exploded and created the whole Universe?
And another great display of ignorance right there...

(July 8, 2014 at 3:49 pm)Baqal Wrote: 6. Evolution teaches us that humans evolved from monkeys. How can you explain the existence of monkeys today?
Retardation doesn't quite cover it...
It's like this person saw the drawing made at the time of Darwin mocking his work and got his impression of the Theory of Evolution from that one drawing.

(July 8, 2014 at 3:49 pm)Baqal Wrote: 7. The second law of thermodynamics, which is part of science, disproves evolution. A scientific law contradicts a scientific theory, therefore the theory isn't true.
Derp. Ignorant.
Where does the second law of thermodynamics disprove evolution?
Right next to the part where it disproves the conversion of metalic rocks into aluminium cans?

(July 8, 2014 at 3:49 pm)Baqal Wrote: It was very frustrating to argue with a person that refuses to listen to anything you have to say against his beliefs. He eventually gave up, but I doubt he's going to question his own faith anytime soon.
I'm now curious. How would've you responded to his statements?

Some people need to be called ignorant and stupid quite a few times, before they start questioning what their leaders are feeding them.
Also, call his leaders liars... that may nudge it a bit.
"If you got that information from anyone else, then that person was lying to you... think about who it is that you are following... a liar, a con, a deceiver..."
