For fuck's sake, how could I have forgotten Garp. Probably a good thing I've never gotten 'round to reading that book. Hollywood was doing abysmal adaptations at the time and while it's a good movie in it's own right, they probably didn't do the book justice.

It was the second video I ever saw.
Another unforgettable experience for me was Robin Williams, Live at the Met.
Sitting here thinking about it, suddenly got a tear to the eye. Poor bastard. :-(

You don’t understand that I don’t care if that film bolwed do you?
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: The entire film was a disgusting cock-up. Just ask Patch Adams.
Geez if I only had posted a article that says how Patch Adams had already made the peace with the movie…Oh wait I think I did.
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: It portrayed him as nothing more than a clown, instead of a hard working doctor, who DID get his license, AND DID NOT steal medical supplies from hospitals!
Really because I see a middle age man that tries to found his way, live the fullest and overcome the murder of his girlfriend.

Time to time? Watch carefully pal he is like that 24/7. And if you find out egocentrism entertaining. Then I have two things to say to you pal:
  • You don’t know the first thing of entertaining.
  • And quoting the great philosopher wayne. If you like egocentrism:
    Then you`re gonna love me.

Internet personality yeah right and just for that you think I’m gonna like the guy? Or agreeing with him? Or put his opinion adobe mine?
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: You... didn't ask me a question. :S
No you are just evading the question:
I said it once and I'll said it again. Are we supposed to overpass everything that deceased did and only take in count the good things? Am I supposed to forget Revolution 9 just because I liked John Lennon? Or overpass the Last Airbender movie despite how much I love the Nickelodeon Avatar franchise? Who says what we should or shouldn't remember when we talk about someone life history?
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: When you're remembering someone and paying tributes to them dumbass.
WHO SAID
I WAS
PAYING TRIBUTE TO WILLIAMS?
This is the thread to talk about Williams death.
The thread about paying tribute to Williams is this one genius.

The Robin Williams Tribute Thread

(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: Otherwise you're doing it in bad faith.
Why? By mentioning that there is a Williams movie that everyone hated except me? By saying that I liked Patch Adams I’m being disrespectful to Williams?
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: And Spielberg ain't dead.
Yeah I know that’s why I said
Geez then when Spielberg dies nobody mentions the crystal skull to Welsh guys.
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: And if he did die, I would pay my respects by celebrating his greatest achievements.
And you expect me to do the same because?....
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: I never said Doug was always right. Far from it. He's human like the rest of us.
Yeah because he is so very humble about his opinion.
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: On the single issue though of addressing this movie and its faults, his criticism is bang-on 100%.
Dude I don’t give a damn about walker or his critics or his opinion! What you expect me to agree with him just because you did? Grow up.
Hating or liking a movie doesn’t make you right or wrong it makes you an sadistic. Hahaha. What you think that just because you hated a movie that everyone else did that is gonna influence in my opinion? Get down of you're your cloud pal and put your feets on the ground.
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: You have to judge the film by its own merits.
Don’t tell that to me you are the one who’s not giving the film any merits.
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: Patch Adams, the movie, is not faithful to the man's life, at all.
Yeah you’ve mentioned. Severeal time. What just because of that I can’t like the movie? You have any idea how many cinema films aren’t disrespectful to the books and yet people like?
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: Because Its a grossly inaccurate portrayal.
Just as the beauty is in the eye of the holder so does degradation.
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: If you cannot appreciate the difference between fact and fiction, you and I are done talking.
This isn’t about appreciating the difference between fact and fiction this is about you disapproving fiction by using fact therefore you want everyone else to do that. Difference between fact and fiction please.
Hey bud. In star wars the space scenes, there ain’t no sound in space. And In raiders of the lost ark that temple at the end of the film is not a forgotten city is Petra. And in lord of the Rings at the end of the first trilogy Sauron should have appeared in body.
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: I'll celebrate Robin Williams for his achievements.
And that would be okay if only you weren’t diminishing and menospreciating anyone other with different opinion.
(August 14, 2014 at 5:08 pm)Welsh cake Wrote: You wanna revisit his fuck ups instead? Fine. Knock yourself out.
Like I said before:
Besides not every single one of us like to forget our mistakes. Some people like to carry them and say Yeah I did that and it's because of that, that I became a better person.
By burring the past you ain’t celebrating anyone’s history you are just being childish.

I'll have to watch Patch Adams now and when I'm finished I'm going to come back and go mad on one of you two depending on whether I liked it or not. :-)

Time for a new Random House for me.

If you don't like it I won't either be upset with you or blame you for that. As long as you respect me even after disagreeing with you, nor menospreciating me for liking it. However if you do like it I strongly suggest that you keep your opinion to yourself because Welsh then is gonna take your approval as a sign of disrespect agains't Patch, Williams and….give me a minute to read it again.

Oh yeah that you will be disrespecting William's career because apparently we can't nether enjoy or like anything that isn't popular nor acceptable to the masses about his career.….And somewhere along the line you'll be spitting a "epic" review of this film by an internet personality.
Although to be honest if that's an example of an epic review give me any coffee magazine critic every time of the week.

As a person who struggles with depression and suicidal ideation, this saddens me. The stigma needs to end, the brain is an organ. Thus we should be able to treat its illnesses and afflictions.

Are you freak-in kidding me!!!

And people ask me why I made a thread to questions whether we(atheists) should or shouldn't help Bryan Fischer in his moment of need. Because this just gives me the reason.

"Robin Williams was demon possessed"

Translation: "Robin Williams was extremely witty, talented and popular. Now he's dead, we can get away with compensating for our insane jealousy by making the accusations we would have been sued for just a few weeks ago."
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
