Christians: Please explain the Exodus
RE: Christians: Please explain the Exodus
"The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering."

Were I to hold a belief, or set of beliefs, that evidence shows me might not reflect reality, guess what I would do? I would do the rational thing and change my belief.

The flexibility to be shown to be wrong is called being openminded. Without wishing to sound patronising, this is quite a vital life skill that you're going to need to survive after you leave school.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I have been shown I am wrong many a time and then learnt from that mistake, but I don't feel that my belief has or will every be disproven to me

Beliefs aren't usually described or evaluated in terms of being true and proven. They are either justified or they are not. I think we've gone over this before.

I think he's offering you a bridge, or the Statue of Liberty.
