Kansas City diocese to settle sex abuse claims for $9.95 million

A former altar boy, Jon David Couzens, filed a $10 million civil suit against the Kansas City diocese last month alleging that he had been sexually abused by a now-dead priest.

They settled for almost the same amount that the suit was for? That seems unusual, and makes you think that they were worried that losing in court could lead to either a larger amount awarded or perhaps others stepping forward with additional cases.

So it seems. The last line explains their motivation.

But, he added, “more coverups by more Catholic officials would have emerged had these cases gone to trial and we’re sad that this won’t happen.”

Fox News contributor Father Jonathan Morris on Sunday suggested that baptizing the children of same-sex couple would be difficult because the parents would be raising them in sin.

Dear Father Shitferbrains,

"Baptizing" such children would be simple compared to the difficulty of a same-sex couple HAVING a kid.
