Food and friends, fuck Santa and family.
At least nobody calls on Christmas day (usually) wanting me to go out and fix something. 
I get a bit tense with holiday season. Personality differences with my parents, the length of time between TG and the following Easter. It just feels like we have so many holidays.

Yeah, I greatly dislike the holiday season as well. I don't care to celebrate Thanksgiving because it's based on a huge fucking lie. For me, it's like celebrating the day a bunch of Jewish people took Hitler in for a friendly dinner and chat and thus was forged an ever lasting friendship between the nazi aryans and the jews. And we all lived happily ever after. The End.
Oh, wait. The holocaust never happened. It stings my sense of humanity a little bit. Christmas is equally hated. If anything, I celebrate the solstice with some good food, friends, and a drink. I have one friend who's hell-bent on celebrating Christmas, so I participate for her sake. Kind of. Otherwise I'd have my hands clean of the whole damn thing. 
The holiday, as the commercial potlatch it has become, is despicable. I'm with you Ophelia. I live in a fucking desert. It was 82 degrees yesterday and they were playing some vapid "Winter Wonderland" shit at Barnes and Noble.

I don't much care for christmas. Just reminds me of how broke I am. Plus I hate a lot of Christmas music, jesusy music makes me want to blast rush.
