Min I have no fear of hell God through Christ has secured a place in heaven for me. This is exactly why I can live life without fear and live life with joy. I'm not sure why you think that christians live in fear of hell, we've been freed from that reality, it's the lost who have to live with the fear that hell could be a reality.

If Heaven and Hell were proved real...?

But God has provided a way that our sins can be forgiven by faith in Jesus Christ. This forgiveness is available as a free gift to anyone who will accept it. Anyone who has been forgiven by believing in Christ is no longer in any danger of going to hell and no longer has any reason to fear it.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

You like Min, EvF and all the rest that have responded to the claim that christians have no fear of hell do not understand anything about christianity. One can not lose their salvation but they can give it up many on this site have done that very thing. Satan tempts christians all the time and we to often fall into his trap, we are just human, but that does not mean we will go to hell, we ask forgiveness of our failing and we are forgiven by God through Jesus Christ. To do the things underlined would mean one has renounced his/her belief in Christ. The 100% certainty means we try to follow the teachings of Christ. Why would anyone believe that knowing that heaven and hell are real would change the way some people act. In this country the death penalty is used in cases of first degree murder and a few other very violent crimes yet people keep on committing these crimes. Christ told the parable of the rich man and the begger when the rich man died he found himself in hell and he wanted to go back and tell his family to change their ways so they would not end up in this cursed place and he was told it would do no good because they already had the law of Moses and they did not follow it and his return would make no difference. Humble faith is the key that opens the Gates of Heaven.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

That is one of the most mindless and nonsensical dribble I have ever had the displeasure of reading. Yes, Godschild, we are just human, and humans like you are often deluded by myths and fairy tales. The human imagination is very susceptible to delusions, regardless of how much evidence and reason you get thrown at your face, you still discard it all and even go as far as claiming it is the work of Satan (another product of the human imagination), trying to take you away from your imaginary friend. I feel sorry for people like you who live their life according to some medieval doctrine and only avoid doing bad deeds due to fear of everlasting punishment. This is the only chance you get at life, live it to the fullest. There are no angels waiting for you behind some pearly gates.

Godschild,
You can't be afraid of something you don't believe exists. So you can only be afraid of hell if you believe it exists. Yes, you don't have to be afraid of hell even if you believe in it, because, like yourself, you can just believe that you will be forgiven for all your sins and go to heaven for accepting Christ. But, 1. That's based on nothing and not only can you not rationally know that hell exists but you can't rationally know that you won't go to it just because you accept Christ because the Bible says so, etc, etc. 2. Your belief that any sins you do will be forgiven if you accept Jesus but won't be forgiven if you don't is immoral. Ans you can rape and murder and pillage all you like as long at the end you say"I'm really, really sorry god" and it's aaaallll peachy keen, isn't it boys. Well then Id honestly want to go to hell, because most of my friends would be there! My problem with the idea of Heaven, other than its absolute ridiculousness is how can a heaven be everyones idea of paradise? Everyone is different and enjoy different things. A person who loves the opera may dream of a heaven that plays non stop opera. Where to me that would be pure hell. Id rather be at the beach all day with a nice lady friend, 6-8' and glassy slight breeze at about 78 degrees F. I don't think it would send people into a panic, heaven is so easy to get into these days, thanks to Jesus dying for our sins right? What a guy. |
