Hmm, I don't think the bible is being taught properly, you know? It's almost like just the un-evil bits are being taught.
Oh yeah of course! He killed everyone in a town except the guy who offered his two daughters up for gang rape and his family.
Then he did the same thing again later, in a different town. Weird huh?
It's ok, I'm probably making all this up.

Because you know if they taught all the parts they would have to dodge the contradictions with each story. And i mean every story and apologize and lie for god of the bible when he does something fucked up which is in most of the parts of the bible well all of them really when god is around. So yeah cherry picking is only keeping religion on a life line at the moment.

Just so you know Miles, I have nothing against you, or any theist that isn't causing harm. I'm sure you're a cool guy  My problem is just with religion, in general.

We are all evil; He didn't make particular cities full of evil people, He simply dealt with them when He had had enough of them, or when it served His purposes to eliminate them.
The Lord never orders the rape of virgins anywhere in the Bible. They are allowed to be taken in marriage, and there is nothing to lead us to believe that He intended anything but that.
So what if the animals are killed?
Hitler was not "fine," though all evil serves God's purposes for good. Out of the ashes of the holocaust the nation of Israel was reborn, as prophesied 2,500 years earlier.
Babies are not evil, but the judgment of God is severe, and as it is written:
Numbers 14:18
The LORD is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations.
And who is evil, God for His righteous judgment, or man who revels in unrighteousness? We are all born with consciences; the Canaanites knew that sacrificing their children by fire was evil, but they did it anyway. They deserved what happened to them.

Also, slaughtering all those villages was just one small example of atrocity. Let me know when you're ready for more, I got plenty of ammo

So the virgins who where kidnapped from the city where everyone was slaughtered weren't raped because gods soldiers decided to marry them before they had sex with them? The god of the bible is disgusting and so is anyone who tries to justify such actions.

Yeah, the bible is pretty easy on rapists. It even punishes rape victims.
But that was a different culture, and it's not like God could just tell them what to do and what not to do. That would never work.

It is ridiculous that an all powerful god cannot think of a better way to deal with people who are misbehaving, other than slaughtering them and their children.
