Think about it sport. What is the atmospheric pressure at sea level? 14.7 psi (Google it and come back, was taken from memory I may be wrong)
Now ask yourself why?
Now take your wrong answer and throw it away, now Google it.
You should come up with something like this:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmospheric_pressure
In short 14.7 psi is the force or pressure being pushed in one us by the weight of the air around us all the time. The higher we go (away from sea level the thinner the air gets meaning the 14.7 psi gets reduced.)
Now if the ocean topped Everest that would mean around the world water levels would have to rise almost 5 miles, which inturn pushes sea level up 5 miles, and because water/sea water is more dense than air, the atmospheric pressure would also be pushed up 5 miles...
Do you get it yet? Because the sea level rose 5 miles atmospheric pressure also rose 5 miles because the water pushed up the sea level air.
So let's say at Everest atmo pressure is 8.2 psi, now that the ocean is on level with the peak of Everest, that peak is no longer 5 miles above sea level, it becomes the new sea level..
(If you still don't get pm someone before responding and ask them to help you out.)
I know you guys like to pretend to have science on your side, but seriously guys read something other than the anti God propaganda that you all write for yourselves every once in a while. You all are beginning to sound like the corn pones your trying to say christians are.

And don't forget that god intended to kill every living thing, Drich. Flooding the Earth just enough to cover the hills would not accomplish that, as there still would be dry land to take shelter. See the problem?
So In Your opinion if one could flee to a uncovered mountain top, he could have survived the 40 days and nights of rain, 150 days befor the flood water began to recede, and the year year and 1/2 before the ground was dry again... My question to you is what did they eat for all that time?
Do you see your problem yet?
