RE: Question for Atheists

I still want to know why the word 'atheist' keeps being capitalised.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Nor would I expect you too. That didn't happen here.

Good question I guess, how does this relate to the OP?

Just like Pxian means Progressive Christian.
And while you may have explained away your reasons for saying xians put country in their top three, it doesn't explain how you still managed to contradict yourself, prior to my asking for a source. Up to that point, you made a generalization about a group of people without identifying any sources to back up that generalization. So I responded in kind, asking why you made that assumption but then turned around and said that you don't want to assume something about an entire group of people.
Because I'm not assuming anything about Christians. You THINK I'm assuming something about Christians in general, but I'm not.
My assumption that Atheists place science on a pedestal was an assumption, saying that Christians tend to place God, Family and Country as their source of emotional stability and happiness is not an assumption. It's an observation that is grounded in reality. The only assumption here was that you and others already knew that. Apparently you didn't. But like any discussion it's not necessary for me to site every single source for every single statement I make. If you take issue with something I say, THEN it can be addressed, just like we did.
It'd be far easier for you to simply amend your assertion to:
Some, mostly American, types of Christians put country in their top three sources of emotional stability and happiness.

Yeah it kinda did.

In the sense that you keep capitalising it unnecessarily and annoyingly, and in the broader sense that you still haven't answered my good question.

What's your good question? Sorry this thread filled up pretty quick and I must have missed it.

The one you yourself guessed was good. And quoted.

Yeah I was being sarcastic. I don't know why I capitalized it and I'll repeat, why does it matter?
I've been trying to have a civil discussion here and you guys are nitpicking the shit out of everything I say. If you don't like the fact that I capitalized Atheist, piss off.

Yeah, if we're down to namecalling that's rather pointless. Also, last attempt from my side, the reason why some of us take issue with your use of the term atheist, has been pointed out, or rubbed in your face repeatedly, I would say. We're not a group. We're individuals with - attention - THE ONLY COMMON DENOMINATOR OF NOT BEING BELIEVERS.
Clear enough. You keep riding a fallacy through our village and expect us to contribute to it's growth. Which is impossible by reasonable standards.

Because we constantly have theists that come here with the same assertion of good-natured, diplomatic curiosity that you also assert. And they've nearly inevitably turned out to be either simply preachers preaching to us, or trying to push disingenuous and dishonest assertions about atheists and atheism.
So forgive us for being a bit skeptical, especially when you've been exhibiting (consciously or otherwise) some of the same habits and tropes that these previous trolls have also exhibited.

It's annoying, because it makes the assumption that atheists and atheism is an institution, when in fact it's the very opposite. And if you don't like being criticised in any way over your research, you can piss off. And take your arrogant condescension with you.
