Yeah, I read it in the meantime - and nice to meet one of the rudest persons I had the displeasure of running into. Good luck with your writing. It will rise up to your standards I'm sure.

This is to funny. You've been nothing but rude to me since I came in here. You're a hypocrite.

"Too".
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

The refusal to modify an opinion in the face of countervailing information is not very sensible. Embracing dogma of any sort is a sure way to have reality catch you by the short hairs.

Nobody has offered any countervailing information of any kind, and it's not really relevant to the OP.

If you read abaris' first post in this thread, you will understand why I feel compelled to call bullshit on that.
Besides, you come here, make awful generalizations, explicitly state that you are only here to use us for your profit and even market your book in the meantime and expect us to be polite? That's not how the real world works, unfortunately.
Good riddance.

What awful generalization did I make? I wasn't trying to market my book I was offering proof that I wasn't full of shit on being a writer, in BOTH CASES I was responding specifically to that claim that my intentions were something other than what I said they were. So yeah, I'll call bullshit on your post too.
In the real world real writers do real research before writing real books. It amazes me you didn't know that. I suppose you would prefer I write a caricature of what Christians believe Atheists are. That way you can sit back and have something else to bitch about when the book comes out.

The careful reader will have discerned otherwise. While I agree with you that it's not terribly relevant, still, the fervent espousal of a belief that has been shown to be at least questionable -- which is the case here, your protestations notwithstanding -- is not an efficient way to go about winkling truth out of reality.
I honestly hope your book is a satisfying labor. I'm a hobbyist writer, not yet published, so I'm not out to prod you with a pitchfork, but wish you well. I will say that when I came across your statement that you're not going to come back here any more, I was a little bummed. But hey, I s'pose you're a busy guy and all. I hope you regard my points as helpful.
'Bye.

Thank you, I appreciate the sentiments. I am a pretty busy dude, but even if I did want to stick around it's very clear that many of the people in this particular thread don't want me here anyway. But yeah I don't have a lot of time so chatting in online forums isn't a hobby of mine. Good luck to you as well in getting your stuff published. Amazon has a pretty cool self-publishing route if you care to take it in that direction. I've spoken with writers who have done traditional and self and they say either way you're doing all the work and promotion yourself. Look up Create Space, not to bad.
