There aren't, as I've said. They're all involved in life saving surgery, and cannot just swap over with someone else. By the time one becomes available willing to treat your kid, it's too late and your kid has died.
Is this acceptable christians? Should the surgeon be held accountable for the death of the child, or should we protect his rights to not have to treat people when it's against his religion to do so?
If I owned a hospital, a surgeon would not be able to practice there unless he/she was willing to treat everyone and anyone. Same goes for the clinic. I have no problem if the clinic fires the doctor in question. She can go open her own office.

This isn't religious freedom, this isn't exercising rights, this is bigotry and discrimination plain and simple. Cowards that hide behind their religion to disguise their own prejudice. At least admit you are bigots, don't you dare call it your religion. If it was really religious freedom, they would be taking slaves and killing homosexuals instead of just refusing them service. A bunch of cherry pickers and hypocrites the lot of them. Anyone who defends this doctor's actions seriously needs to reconsider their morality. Every doctor takes a Hippocratic oath, they don't have the right to refuse their service.

So, let's see if I got this right...
You demand legal protection for your beliefs in disrespecting basic human rights and claim it is persecution to deny you the ability to actually persecute others? Well, if you're ok with that, then I guess you wouldn't have a problem if a doctor refused to treat your child because you are a christian.
I'm sorry, but if your religious beliefs demand that you infringe another person's freedom from discrimination, your beliefs do not deserve respect.

So in fact, discrimination is fine. The hospital can hire people who randomly discriminate using the religion of the D20. If you roll a 16 or higher, you're offensive, no treatment for you or your kid!

Excuse me? How does this even compare?
No one is holding a gun to the doctors' heads. What is expected of them is simply what is expected from the rest of humanity: to respect basic human rights. Which, FYI, include freedom from discrimination. Don't pretend it's anything else than that. The doctor refused treatment specifically because the parents were lesbians. That's disgusting and unprofessional.
And the doctor refusing to treat a dying child is morally okay, in your opinion?
