You really should consider seeking professional help with this unhealthy obsession with ABBA you have, Brian.

Arggggg.......Um actually no, I have grown up quite a bit since my real obsession with Pat Benatar, that was an obsession. Yes I do debate and defend that band sure. But it is much different now because I don't worship them, I don't feel like I am part of them. I have no personal connection with them, I am not their family or personal friends. When I was obsessed with Pat Benatar, that was a delusional desire to be part of something. Now with ABBA it is the admiration of their work, not a delusion that I have some personal connection with them.

Not everything you do has to be done in a library to be considered talented.

The Ramones were extremely talented but to say "Beat On The Brat" is a deep song would be bullshit. And their cord progressions were not that complicated for the vast majority of their songs. There are plenty of ABBA songs that have a wider range of cords than that song and I already listed their influences and backgrounds.

No one held up the Ramones as epitomizing good music. 

I love the Ramones as well, like Metallica too. Just say you don't like ABBA and stop this bullshit crap that they are not talented.

I've been a musician for thirty-five years now, and I'm entitled to support my opinion with what I know about music.
Don't like it?  Tough shit.

They never pretended to be anything more than fun. Fun is not a crime. Fun takes as much talent at that level as deep.

I don't know why you went through all that I agree and has been my entire point. Not everyone shares my taste. Yep, and others will live knowing ABBA has talent.
