What are they guilt-tripping you with exactly?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Oh I see... maybe it's best you don't discuss it with them? From what you say it sounds like there's no point in a debate anyway, so maybe you should just spare yourself the nerves, bub

That's not a guilt trip, that's shunning bullying and condemnation. I would simply state that they are in fact the bad people in this conversation, because the espouse prejudice and hateful rhetoric. That would be all there is to say for me.

What's your country?

If they say I'm immoral, and ask why I'm not out doing all kinds of evil stuff, I can ask them why they think they're better than me when they need a carrot or a stick to get them to do stuff. I am ignoring the promise of heaven, and the threat of hell, yet I'm NOT going around hurting people because of a difference of beliefs.

GC sometimes tells me I don't read enough of the bible, but I'm just taking things at face value. I don't assume that something must be happening behind the scenes to exonerate their deity of wrongdoings. If the best their god can do for society is something slightly more progressive than contemporary culture at best, then he's not worthy of worship. There have been people throughout history that have been more progressive than mainstream, and have done good for societies. I don't worship them either.
